I present to you the director's cut of the Wand Duel.
In the original version (which can be watched here at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=64ERIaAtorI&feature=related ) featured no visual effects or sound effects.
Shortly after the original cut came out, I vowed to release a director's cut of the film.
Four months later and after many furious hours of intense visual effects, thanks to Mr. Ben McEwan of Australia, we now have the cut of the Wand Duel the way it was meant to be seen.
The differences in this cut include the obvious visual effects, sound effects, and various cuts.
So, without further adieu, I present to you the Wand Duel: Director's Cut.

It was good. But man your Whites are just over blown. You couldn't bring down the exposure on your cam? Close the Iris a little? If not then perhaps bring down the Whites during post?
You definitely needed Color Correcting/Grading too.

I think YouTube is to blame for that. The footage I was working on looked fine (bar the odd few shots)
I did do a tiny bit of colour correction, just getting rid of the horrible blue tint on the footage. Matching the whites/blacks/contrasts/whatever was extremely difficult, because each sequence had been filmed at a completely different time of the day. The sequence at the end I couldn't fix, because light was bouncing white crap around everywhere
As you can probably tell, colour correction isn't really my thing. I've never really had to do it before!
Thanks for the comments Robi-Wan

Well that was highly entertaining. A little too much "my wand is a gun" stuff going on, but still very fun and well done.

Nice. I thought this was worthy of winning the competition without effects but now it is even better. The editing could be a little tighter in a couple of places but otherwise it was quite enjoyable. I want more.

Oh, there will be more. We're shooting one for the second annual wand duel competition which is in December I believe.

Thought it was really good before, now it's just awesome.
I really love the sound. It adds a lot of power to the fighting. The visual effects were good, but might have benefited from more variety. They all kind of looked generally like the same effect just with a different color. But that's just me. But they were done well for what they were.
Good job.

Not if anything to say about it, I have! My precious. If your friends were all named Cliff would you jump off them? Like cloning special effects tests? Watch my Obi vs. Greivous remake: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZAuPA7QdlE

My only advice would be for you to invest in a better camera. But I mean...wow...I REALLY enjoyed your film. It was intense and very well done. Plus, I thought seeing the guy holding onto the top of the speeding car was hilarious.

I wasn't much of a fan when I first saw this film, so let this be a lesson to other wand duellers when the next competition comes around: the visual effects are paramount to how good your film is. Without them, it looks very silly indeed.
The film is much improved now, and it held my attention all the way through. The visuals were great (well done to Ben McEwan) but I personally found the sound effects a bit 'samy'. The first bit of duelling I think has some editing issues that are only highlighted by the extra effects, but that's the only criticism I can give, pacing-wise.
Well done, all round.

That was always my issue with the fight, regardless of if you were going for that or not. If you want to have a fight like that, just use guns.
The effects came out great though. Are you shaking the shots a bit with the impacts? That's what it felt like.
What are those sounds used here?

Then perhaps in the near future there will be a gun choreography contest. :-p

Please, for the love of god Harrison, take off that crappy filter, it gives you all those unwanted light effects, try and white balance, other then that, it's in good shape, and hey, the music? It was better before, even if it was recognizable, it was still better suited. Effects were pretty good...
(I notice you shoot with filters for your projects, even if it's a UV, take it off, or clean the lens. That's the main thing that makes your work look amateur.
