We are very sorry to hear that our film Dark Resurrection has been rejected.

We have subdivided the movie in 7 parts like revelation... with english subtitle... but..

the motivation of reject?

"Thank you for contacting Atom Entertainment, Inc.

Due to the high volume of submissions we receive, we are unable to
respond to individual questions about why a film was not selected. The
most common issues are story, length, pacing and copyright infringement.
We?re sorry we can't be more specific than that!

Regards,
The AtomFilms Team"

Sorry to hear about that.
However, I think that Dark Resurrection will do just fine without the exposure on Atom Films.

Yeah, Vimeo's pretty nice so long as you can keep your video under 500mb at a decent quality.
This'll be a challenge in my future.

Yea a half hour for Toronto Cybercide comes out ok because it wasn't filmed with HD in mind. I think Dark Ressurection Part 1 was about 40 minutes which I think is long enough to chop into two 20 minute chapters of decent quality.

That is a shame. Are there any sub-titled films foreign films on AtomFilms site? Just curious if the fact you didn't dub the lines might be an issue.

I thought there was a rule that if you had a film on their site, you couldn't post it anywhere else? Maybe that's why they rejected it.

They actually dropped that requirement last year - or the year before last, I forget which.

But even when it was a requirement, all it meant was that other online copies had to be taken offline once the film became an Atomfilms finalist. Pink Five was hosted here at TFN and on iFilm long before it was accepted by Atomfilms, to name just one example.

There's no telling exactly what Atomfilms will choose as a finalist, but a film that's both subtitled and far longer than their preferred length is probably at a disadvantage, no matter how good the overall quality may be. Short and funny is their usual preference, and not just for the SW contest, but for their site overall.

But what they choose one year may not necessarily be the same the next - Pink Five was rejected the first time it was submitted, and accepted the following year even though it was the exact same film. There's no harm in submitting Dark Resurrection again later, 'cause you just never know.

Anyone know what the stand point is to using the Star Wars score in amateur work for the Atom Films SW Competition? I just thought if they are happy to do that mashup thingy... then using the score wouldn't be a problem?
