No problem. It's a school dorm room, I can't do a whole lot to it.

It is bright at night, though. Here's one from last year (changes: one more hard drive, printer in the upper left is gone, and there is no Captain Covax's Canadian Caravan sheet behind the computer):

Even that doesn't convey just how bright my dorm room is at night from the 30+ LEDS.

As far as being able to really customize things... just you wait until I'm completely moved back into my parents' basement.

Re-posting pictures from last summer:

Changes so far: a second hard drive (you can see the one sitting next to the Xbox), the computer itself is sitting on an end table that is higher but has less surface area (a good tradeoff, as my cooling stand lets the corners hang over the edge), and the plastic tote is now being used for the hard drives.

Last week of classes... last week of classes...

Nice. Oh, hey, might I suggest a switch to use just one mouse on all of those computers? Unless you use both simultaneously somehow, it'd help save a tiny bit of space.

minimal. yes. I can see that. I mean, I have a pc up to date and a camcorder, but besides from topnotch software, that's all. I can see your setup is VERY minimal wink

Like a few others here, I edit films and television for a living, so for that, it's pretty bare-bones compared to the full-blown systems at the various post houses I do some gigs in. Plus, I don't have a whole lot of space in my NYC apartment (you can pretty much tell that every nook and cranny is basically packed with gear...can you tell I'm single? :P). Looking to start renting some office/studio space sometime this year. I friggin' HATE computers!

Sweet, now we have the blue prints to steal all your stuff..

Oh...I forgot to include the Remington 870 12-ga. pump under the bed in my floor plan. Silly me. Now what was that you wanted again?

Summer 2006 is set up!

Note the tripod on the right where the camera sits when I'm using it for a webcam.

My two external hard drives, microphone, USB hub, and two glowing, USB powered lights that cycle through seven colors, mostly shades of blue.

A tad closer, and the USB powered aquarium in the background. Water's sorta iffy in there at the moment... should re-fill it with something clearer. There used to be a motor to make the fish swim around, but it died a while ago.

Case badges on the back (Bawls, FRAG, Revenge of the Sith, and Atari) and the glow from the cooling stand at the bottom. There's also a General Grievous sticker towards the top of the lid on the right, visible in the first picture, as well as the first of two ATI Mobility Radeon case badges.

The second ATI Mobility Radeon case badge and the glow of the cooling stand coming out from beneath the computer. Reflecting on it, red-orange LEDs would rock under there.

The last of the case badges- Windows 98, Windows XP (black text is faded out but the colored logo remains), 42, and Intel Inside Pentium 4 HT. Also note the palm imprints. I love that mouse, too... Logitech MX 518.

Last pics....promise:

Only difference is that I replaced the 2-rack-space DEQ8024 with a single-space DEQ2496 Digital EQ (for room-correction EQ), and I finally got my Sony monitor back from service.

One more picture of my setup. My Xbox isn't working, so I substituted my DVD/TV in as a replacement, piping to the other TV and the stereo system.

It's also the seventh picture in the series, so please forgive the pun with the file name.

I could use more of those boxes you see in the back corner to throw junk into. BUt junk that I want to keep. Or something. I'm a pack-rat.

As for the LEDs... it's hard to pimp out a laptop, especially when it goes up against things like this:

But I think that with peripherals, I get the job done. That's why I went with the cooling stand I did- it's glowy. It's a shame that ThinkGeek doesn't sell that hub anymore, too- not only is it eight ports, but it also has eight LEDs.

Is that the new thing now? 'Pimping' a computer like those Isuzu street racers in Fast & Furious? Wow, times have changed.
