Not that I've been able to figure out, or even take the time with; I'm not an electrician or anything. It'd be pretty cool to get the ones on the hub going like that, though. And get a little music box, like for Christmas lights, for the Christmas tree and snowman.

The closest I come is that three of the lights on my poster blink every second. That's it. So if I have something with a beat every second, or two beats a second, or three/four time and three beats a second, etc., then yeah, that one matches. But that poster also isn't up in the basement here, I only put it in the dorm room.

You need something like this:

http://www.velleman.be/fr/en/product/view/?id=351444
http://www.designnotes.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=NWRB30&Category_Code=caa

You can get a few in different colors, then get an electronic crossover that routs the lower/bass frequencies to one color, and the higher/treble frequencies to another.

Friggin' MINT!

Finally got my new computer built.

Let's see, its got:

Core 2 Duo EE660
2gigs of DDR2-800
250gigs of HD space (temporary, will eventually get some sort of raid setup going)
ATI x1900xt graphics card.

The setup I've got going right now is pretty sweet.

I can use the TV as a screen for viewing dailies and showing videos on my comp to crowds. Also, the mother board I got has a optical out so I can plug it directly into my surround sound system for gaming in dolby digital. skull skull skull

This is where I sleep:

The overexposed blob in the corner is one of those nifty oriental paper lamps.

Media collection:

This is by far the best dorm setup I've had. Absolutely perfect for group movie viewing.

Ha, that's similar to my current setup. What with the futon and the DVD collection perpendicular to the desk tongue I'd post a picture of what I have goin' these days, but it's a bit cluttered. You would maybe be able to find an iMac, my new MacBook, and a couple of Wacom tablets, but I need to get back to editing this damn wedding anyway...cool to see the thread bumped, I was just digging up the one at the PixelCorps last night peace

My setup is really simple now.

Computer
Dell Inspiron 9400: (go to Dell.com to see what it looks like)
2.16 GHz Core 2 Duo T7400
2 GB DDR2 667 RAM
256 MB GeForce Go 7900 GS
1920x1200 17" LCD
100 GB primary 5400 rpm hard drive
500 GB eSATA RAID 0

I'm debating getting a secondary 24" 1920x1200 Dell LCD, but haven't convinced myself I'd get the use out of it.

Camera
Sony HDR-FX1

Software
Premiere Pro 1.5.1
AspectHD 3.4
After Effects Pro 6.5

It's really the fastest setup I've ever used. Truly a joy to work on.

I just got one. Its nice. Very, very nice. Perfect picture, too. Despite some reports about uneven brightness that plagues many LCDs, mine does not suffer from that. Or any other hardship for that matter.

It is big though. Much bigger than I expected. They don't appear that big when you view them in a store, but get them on your desk, and its a different story. I used to think my desk was big, and in fact, I was thinking of scaling down. But after this monitor, I realized I may need to buy a bigger desk, especially since I'm considering adding a second 24" monitor.

Do it.

As much ass as Alienware kicks, it seems to be rather ugly IMO. Yours is alright looking, Pixel, but I was browsing through the rest of the thread and saw one or two that made me puke tongue

Eh, what the hell. It's in it's natural state, and it ain't comin' out anytime soon.

You must bow down to the Apple alter!

Sorry you have to see my MacBook in such a state. Canopus and Mac's don't get along, and we use Canopus at work. Must convertage *sigh*

Yes, those are Christmas lights back there. Gives a nice aura at night happy

The problem is that I'm not sure I'll $912 (CAN w/ tax) of use out of it. Mostly I would use it while editing - but truth be told, I don't edit much. I could use it watch DVDs too, as it is as big horizontally as my TV - however it's in the wrong room for that.

Anyhoo - I'll have to think about it.

As for all the Macs... I'm not impressed tongue
