However, it was not an obvious thing to see. Pretty darn common from what I can tell. I certainly didn't make it up myself, I had to pick it up somewhere. 	Ok, random question related to SW acronyms; I keep forgetting, what does CIS stand for? I know it's the official name of the separatists, and I've heard it several times, but I can't for the life of me ever remember what it means. Anyway, back on topic: I'm not entirely sure what time period to settle on. Wouldn't mind the New Republic era, because you could so stuff about Imperial remanants, or about the New Republic itself, and even Jedi are a possibility (not that they have to be there, but I think it's nice to keep the option open). ).(I know little to nothing about the EU, but personally I saw we ignore most of it. Alliance time period would be good as well. Well, mostly because I'd love to perhaps see some space battles with X-Wings and stuff, and killing Stormtroopers (not that I'm saying we have to have it, or that we ignore story for that stuff). Actually, that applies to the New Republic era as well, since those options are open. We could do a Clone Wars story, though about a battalian of Clone Troops rather than Jedi. Might not be a whole lot story-wise to go from, but then again someone might have some good ideas for it. Anyway, I'm out of time for now. 	CIS = Confederacy of Independent Systems Any time after the Battle of Yavin (as seen in A New Hope) has sufficient CD models, sound effects and members of the 501st running around to make it less difficult to pull off than other eras. 	I have three ideas that I have been developing. The first is 1000 BBY and has no jedi or sith. It is about the Mando when they were more clan like. Imagine 'spartan mercs in space' (I am a classics geek). Working title is "Clan War". Also, no Fett references or connection, not likely to go over well with the fett banboys. The second happens 15-10 BBY, between episode 3 and 4. This is the one we have developed to the greatest degree. Smugglers and their lives in the newly formed empire. No jedi, no clones, no Snowflakes, no Mando, but perhaps some other variety of Bounty hunters (ubeese is my preference at this point) Anyone familiar with 'tales of the golden monkey' might see it as a vague inspiration to this tale. Human male and twilek female on adventures helping friends out of tight spots. The third one is probably 100-50 BBY and is about a jedi, but I don't want to tell much about that one since it is under discussion with my local fan force group as a possible project. -x

Of course, the New Republic has probably been covered a bit much by the EU. 	Nobody likes my backstory While that whole "Lucasverse" history I wrote was background info, the actual movie I'd make, set in that time period would be much more personal. My initial idea was about a Sith Lord who had been redeemed, but was more grey than light, being sent by the Jedi to protect a group of refugees in a small unimportant outpost, from the Sith until the jedi fleet could arrive to evacuate them. One of the refugees had a special gift, which was why the sith were so interested in them. It was a small, personal story with the Sith War really being in the background. It was more of a character piece. I had two sequels planned, the first of which would have dealt with the psychology of the Sith and the latter being about the end of the war. So the overall scope of the films would get larger with each one, but the focus would remain purely on the characters. I've decided to relocate the discussion about the the Empire being evil, so that the original topic of this thread can move on without that obstruction. What's important to remember is that the CT is considered Classic, in large part, because of the way the characters interacted with each other. That "ensemble cast" mentality was missing from the PT, but worked fairly well in the KotOR video games. So, if this were to be a film that people would actually enjoy watching, the characters would have to fit together in much the same way. 	We could do either. I am looking for something that would be practical. More people have Stormtrooper outfits... but Jedi or Sith costumes aren't hard to make. Lightsabers are available ALL OVER THE PLACE but toy or replica blasters are not. You see the dilemma? By the way, I like the backstory. That is one to consider. Open to more ideas. About Alberta... you could prolly get some scenery shots and we can throw in some smoke, fire and maybe ships in the air for the possible intercut war section... i dunno -----signature----- I now have surround sound capabilities!
