So on the website I see my duel is on there, but where is harrison's? It says his user name but no video. And I do agree... I do wish there were more entries than just me and Harrison. But hey I had a blast making this duel!

I highly recommend anyone who watches my duel to click on the vimeo link and watch it at the size it is and if you have any bass headphones or speakers listen to it with that. But if you don't still cool happy

but yea, ben, is viewing set to go? apparently since my vid is on the site...?

Well I'm doing the site tongue

You can watch your vid in fullscreen when you click the button on the Vimeo Player happy (the button with 4 blocks)

Only your vid is up there because I haven't gotten the link to Harrisons vid yet...

Maybe Ben has it... I cannot reach him ATM....

haha yes I know that. But if you do that you're going to get a little more blurry video. So that's why I suggest to just view at regular size I compressed it at on my vimeo page.

Isn't the vimeo viewer the same file as the normal one?

this is the same in youtube embed's

you can even embed a HD youtube clip and watch it in HD from the embed as it is just a way for the player to appear outside of youtube (or in this case Vimeo)...

Sorry guys, incredibly sorry for the delays! My internet has been down...
First off, good job SilentBat, haha.

Here are our 2 entries.
Watch RAMSAUR'S entry
Watch DR. CARNIVORA'S entry

DarthRicmu, if you could get both the entries on the website and the voting system online, that'd be great!

Judges, could you please do your write-ups and give a score out of 10?
(The judges are fjrsm, Lord_Charisma and ShadowDuelist if you've forgotten)

The winner will be decided by whoever has the most points. Judges scores count towards 75% of the verdict, and the public have 25%

For all those wondering, this contest WILL be run again next year. I've got some plans...
Happy voting!

Gonna keep this short:

DR CARNIVORA'S ENTRY

The good stuff:
- First thing to note is the Wand Choreography.. I feel it's the best part of this entry! All the choreography was fresh and barely used twice in the same situation.
- The acting was great! The situation of the whole wand duel was executed well!
- The music fit in perfectly! Especially for a recycled piece.

A few things that need improving:
- You forgot to add the WDC2 bumper to the start
- I think you used a few too many wide shots. Keep the camera in close, it'll intensify the action
- You should've made more cuts. The faster the film is cut, the more intense it is
- Don't film on any day. One shot is overcast, then the next has a blue sky. Completely broke the consistency!

Last thought, your vfx guy sucks. All the effects were invisible!

7/10

RAMSAUR'S ENTRY

The good stuff:
- First thing that popped out was the acting of the two male roles. They were brilliant! The female lead wasn't bad, but she could've been better...
- You've got a story.. That's something everyone loves! Whilst it wasn't a required element of the competition, it worked well.
- The use of your location was great too! You had a few spells hit trees etc. Only thing here is the characters should've used that to their advantage

A few things that need improving:
- First off, congrats on getting the visual effects finished! Being a vfx guy myself, I'm pretty picky with what I see. First thing here is your main spell blocks. Your effect seemed pretty random on the inside, but was a perfect circle on the outside. You could've used a roughen edges to improve that very quickly. The other thing that stuck out was the priori incantatem. The particles on the ground weren't solidly tracked in a few points, but the main thing is the intensity. The characters were acting as though they were shooting this really powerful beam out the end of their wands, but the effect barely portrayed that at all! Something as simple as a camera shake could've helped that. In a nutshell, that's my vfx rant :P
- The 2 evil guys that don't get killed at the end seemed like they wanted to kill your main characters when their "leader" was around, but as soon as he died, they couldn't care less and just flew away!

Overall, a very solid film.

6.5/10

Thanks for the feedback ben! Good stuff!
Yea when editing the final duel I knew something wasn't clicking then I was like... oh snap there's this big priori going along but they seem just fine. I am doing a sequel by the way so if we do any epic dueling like that I have 2 GIANT fans and a generator we can take out and get some powerful wind/energy blowing on them to get more of an effect. And what you said about the end of the death eaters just flew away. I agree as well, but if we had a short fight commence I feel like it would have just been over loading too much action so we just made them afraid of her and flew off. As far as the acting thanks, hopefully next film we can get more on cue and I can throw my directing out there more.

I'm surprised you didn't say anything about the music. Especially since it was original composed music. And nothing about my choreography since this is a choreography contest =P
