Speaking of movies, RVD3, if it were to follow tradition, would have a 2011 release, is that not so?

Quite possibly. Though I wouldn't exactly call the time between 2 releases a tradition.

But from what we've been talking about... Might be more like 2012.

You honestly think you'll be able to tell where the crater's going to be?

If the plop it in a place that's in shadow, no. But a nice big explosion on the surface would still be quite a noticeable feature, whether to the naked eye or just a telescope you could pick up at Wal-Mart.

Is it weird that I pictured the end of Karate Kid II for that?

That could count as a justice honk...

That's not a new trailer! Anyway, it's already been discussed on this thread a couple pages back. We're now talking about moon rockets! grin

Who ever said that Brotherhood was better than the original FMA was totally right. Damn! It follows the manga a lot closer, it's like they're not going to give us 1 minute of filler. It's so AWESOME!

It strikes me as odd and sickening that the media is being so respectful to Michael Jackson now that he's passed on. I mean, these are the same people who helped to destroy his reputation and to make him an object of scorn for the last decade or so. And now, just because he's shuffled off the mortal coil, he's an object of their respect?

Mainstream media . . . . doh!

That's why I get my news from the internet. When they start to babble, I just go back to Google.

I was just browsing CTRL-ALT-DEL, he had a link to a friend's movie pitch. The guy's trying to get sponsors so he can get it made.
It's the format that is most interesting.

Indeed. He could cut his budget in half (or spend it on other things) by shooting a digital format.

Not to mention the extra time and hassle whilst he's shooting. I've recently been a runner for a 35mm short and the extra work that has to go into the camera, as compared to a digital shoot, is another order of magnitude.

Maybe this will be different for a 16mm production, but I can't see how. I wonder what the costs would be all told for 16mm vs something like hire of a Red One, which would get him DOF comparable to a 35mm film camera?
