I listened to it without playing the movie (or rather, with both the "friends" and the movie "in my head", so to speak).

I actually enjoyed the lack of "controversy" for a change. There are times when I'm actually not really a fan of Teague playing contrary that way he does wink coz it sometimes make him appear to be dumb and I know for a fact he is not.... yet other times it is adorably cool and that very "controversy" is what brings the episode to life. Bottom line is, I guess - I like the mix.

I think it's time for some really bad movie though (Skeleton Man), or something that Teague may think is retarded and Trey may enjoy (The Dark Crystal)?

That's a good point, the only real stinkers we've done were the Prequels and maybe WWW. So yeah, it could be fun to do a few more movies that are craptacular from start to finish.

Though now that I think of it, commentaries for Matrix Revolutions and Revenge of the Sith have both been recorded already. I managed to avoid being present for those, but I bet there was some blood on the floor in those sessions.

Oh, give them more credit than that.
It probably ended up on the walls, even the ceiling too.

As for Prequels... I'm eagerly awaiting the ROTS.

Another one to do for Trey would be Labyrinth happy

I was present for ROTS and I still am very excited to hear it. I think it's one of the best ones, though that could be just because it's Star Wars, and also I'm sure it's different when you're there. I can say, at least for my own part as a participating commenter, that it's *my* best DIF. So, I can't wait.

I'm kinda with Trey on doing more craptacular films. I've been fortunate to guest on three fairly revered films (Watchmen, Alien, Full Metal Jacket) and while those are fun to get my film nerd on with, I'd be ecstatic to record one for a film that may not be the best but that I have a genuine affection for. Films like Karate Kid, Tron, or literally ANY Jean Claude Van Damme movie, would make for an entertaining couple of hours for me.

Oh, I wish you could've been there for Tron. We faceplanted pretty hard about 2/3 of the way through on that one.

Yeah, that was a very special episode. Tron is so awful that there was nothing much to say other than damm, this is... awful.

Apparently I was the only one who knew that already, I honestly felt bad for the rest of you. It was like being in a roomful of kids when they find out there's no Santa Claus.

Maybe we should have another go at it and give it the shellacking it deserves. We could even talk about how the first attempt was so disastrous that we just gave up and prayed for the nightmare to end. praying

So, I guess I'm the only one on these boards who happens to like the matrix sequels? I mean, the first one is by far the best, by I happen to like the sequels as a continuation of the first. I also like to brag about having the 10-disc ultimate collection :P

I also like the Matrix sequels. I do agree that they could've been better, and that Revolutions has some pretty corny dialogue, but they're still fun movies to watch.

I have a feeling that because the sequels are viewed in a negative light, the Siege of Zion is an action sequence that will be "rediscovered" in 20 years or so. It's unbelievably dark and awesome, and is something that will have already existed for a long time, but most people haven't seen.

You don't mean that bit where the machines drill in and flood the area with Sentinels, while the defenders ride around in poorly designed mechs, do you? Because that was idiotic on a variety of levels. Just to begin with: the defensive weaponry was inefficient and clearly designed to 'look cool' rather than to work or protect the combatants, their tactics were ridiculously suicidal (on both sides, actually) and even given the weapons at their disposal, a decent crossfire pattern could have easily shredded every single Sentinel coming in (at least until they ran out of ammo).

I'm not a fan of Matrix Reloaded, but I love me some Matrix Revolutions.

Oh man, that would've ruled. For whatever reason, for certain films I can intellectually understand every reason why it sucks, and yet still have a blast watching it. Like with The Karate Kid, there are some things that movie does very well (Directed by John G. Avildsen AND Pat Morita got a Best Actor nom) yet the whole thing is just covered in 80's cheese. But despite things like Ralph Macchios wardrobe (button down flannel tucked into camo pants with NO belt) its insane soundtrack ("Young hearts beat fast/driving down the road/love and plastic, metal, glass) or its nonsensical dialogue ("Must be take a worm for a walk week!"), I still love that damn movie and could watch it anytime.

I'm still slightly annoyed that Smith was the badguy in the sequels. I get WHY and HOW it happened, but there's a lot of other ways they could have gone about doing an end war, and there's also a lot of ways of making it more true to the first one.

But, I do enjoy Reloaded and Revolutions equally much, and I really like the Animatrix bits. My favourite is leaning towars "Program" and "The second renaissance", but I like the others too.

All-in-all, I think I enjoy watching the Matrix trilogy more than the Star Wars trilogies(yes, there are two of them, dorkman!)
