Order 725

The Plea:
Help promote alternative/independent Star Wars fan film / fan edit / fan video / fan media culture.

The Play:
Get the logo of your favorite Atom Film failing Star Wars fan film / fan edit / fan video / fan media into the G4 coverage of Star Wars San Diego Comic-Con Spectacular.

The Ploy:
Print out the logo and figure out a creative way to get the logo on screen. Paste it to a column, tape it on someone's back or just wave it like a maniac. (at an appropriate time)

The Not:
This declaration/action is not about upstaging the event, so sticking the logo on the camera is not helpful. The idea is to gain a wider public awareness of films which were not included.

Success can be viewed in different forms. 1. Longevity, 2. Location when on screen.

So bring a logo, and 'do what must be done'.

Oh, for heaven's sake. Anyone would think that Atom is the only game in town, some big mighty entity and the first, possibly last, place anyone goes to see fan films.

One of the things we were discussing in the Atom thread is that the Atom finalists aren't getting AS MANY views as they should these days.

Besides, any fool knows that the best way to promote something at Comic-Con isn't a sign. It's a hot girl in a bikini handing out free stuff. tongue

Rick McCallum loves you!

So why not jazz up the TV coverage (which will have some eyeball attention) with a backdrop showcase of some of the works the event purposefully excludes?

Especially when the film creators don't have a hot chick, a ticket and some free stuff but the creator does have a film, free, waiting for viewers.

Video on the web is still an evolving format. Recently the 3.5 update to Mozilla's FireFox includes for the first time the <video> tag which allows anyone an easy method to insert video into webpages, that in conjunction with the open sourced Ogg format will hopefully make video as easy as text to manipulate and disseminate. 2009 : Free Video

How this affects your 'AS MANY' issue, only time will tell. Enjoy someone's independence day.

One week to go reminder. If there are any appreciators of a fan film of the excluded kind, consider taking the logo or recommend to someone who is going, to take the logo of their favorite rejected fan film and promote it by getting the logo into the G4 coverage.

If your into carrying out Order 725 but don't know of an excluded film, hopefully those creators will post their entries, but one official excluded film is 'Thee Backslacpkping With Media' and it's logo can be found here: tBSWM-Logo.rar or this image can be used. tBSWM-Trailer-00a-Quote.jpg

Thanks of many kinds, feel free to post screen shots.
