Greetings all,

Now for those of you that saw my last thread Titled "Help and Advice needed please" you will know that i am doing a Star Wars fan film, and the title of this film is Ortus of the Somnium, weird i know but it does make sense, Ortus and Somnium are Latin words. And the title measn "Birth of the Dream" it seemed appropriate for my first fan film ever hehe.

Now i know some of you want info on whats comming up so instead of putting endless post's here each time we complete a step or finalise a scene today me and the crew launched an update site for the film which can be found Here

The site will have cast bio's, photo's, updates on how we are doing the basic storyline, and eventually trailers and so on, so please visit and feel free to leave comments in the guestbook peace

If you have to use the Latin title, at least make it all Latin. Not putting the "of the" in Latin just makes it look like you're making up words.

Let me give you a few tips on the website:

1. Do not post here until you actually have something to show, a half finished site is not a good thing to show people.

2. On the website, get your own domain name. If you have already spent as much money as your other thread says, then the 10 bucks for a domain name, and 40-50 bucks for a years worth of registration(I spent 72.00 and got a domain name and 2 years of hosting for my(non star wars related) website at justhost.com)should be no problem.

3. Put some thought into designing the website, don't just use a built in template and change a few things, HTML is relatively easy to learn, and at the very least you can build a static website that looks worlds better then the sloppy templates that site builders give you. If you have Photoshop,(or the free Gimp) and learn a little bit about CSS, then you can create a really sharp, professional site that looks exactly the way you want it to.

4. For the love of English, spell-check everything you put up, and double check your sentence structure, nothing says n00b like poorly designed sentences, sloppy punctuation, and randomly capitalized words.

5. Once you have your own site, don't put up ads everywhere like free hosting services do. Again, it looks unprofessional.

Not trying to be mean, just trying to help. wink

i totally understand what your saying lol. We are using the free site just for updates while we work on the main site as we want everything to be just so for when it goes live.

And as far as the content on the free site at the moment, blame my right hand man as he worked on it lol, but rest assured i will be kicking his butt to get it sorted out :P

Thanks for the comments happy
