RE: ***LIGHTSABER CHOREOGRAPHY CONTEST III***
I have a question about the types of lightsabers. I still haven't finished working on the fight that my friend and I were working on for the
last
contest (which I would really like to do), but it is a single versus daggers fight. I'm just wondering if I can still do this, or will I have to come up with something else? Not that I can't, I'd just rather have a fight that I already know will be good.
Maybe the daggers could count as short singles.

Do a little research?
It depends on the programs you use, too. PM me, I'll help you out.

Yeah, you can have a title. Just no company names or logos and CERTAINLY no names of the people entering (SoandSo VS. This Guy, etc...).
What if the title is literally "So and So vs. That Guy" and no actual people names are used?

Sorry, but the sabers should be approximately the typical length. We're tyring to keep the weapons "canon" this time and eliminate the difficulties of comparing very different forms of weaponry. Perhaps in a future contest.

Absolutely. But much like the hand-to-hand rule, do not use it in excess. It is a lightsaber choreography competition, after all. But yes.
What if the title is literally "So and So vs. That Guy" and no actual people names are used?
Do you mean character names? As in 'Darth X vs. Jedi Master Y'?

As I understand the names in titles rule, "Ryan vs. Dorkman 1.5" would be an unacceptable title, but "Obi-Wan vs. Maul: Alternate Version" would be, right?
Just as examples.

Yea I agree on the Duel of the Fates/Navras rule. 4 Months is plenty of time to make an origional score for a 4 minute video I mean sheesh.

Is that Duel of the Fates/Navras rule basically saying that you cannot use any music from movies or singers, other than what you yourself make? If so, what about shmucks like me who can only compose some crappy midi file, or no music at all?

Might as well get these questions out of the way:
- Will there be a Popular Vote as well as the Judges Vote like last time?
- Would there be a standard Judging Criteria, or will each Judge make up their own? Like X points for execution, X points for editing, X points for narrative, etc.
- Is there any limit to the number of people involved in the actual fighting? (I’m guessing no.)

No, it just says you can't use Duel of the Fates or Navras. Fanfilmer in-joke.
But seriously.
Don't.

^ What he said.
- Will there be a Popular Vote as well as the Judges Vote like last time?
Yes, this was noted in my first post of this thread.
- Would there be a standard Judging Criteria, or will each Judge make up their own? Like X points for execution, X points for editing, X points for narrative, etc.
Similarly to before, we currently plan to leave the style of the judges' reviews up to them. All that we ask is that they rank their top 3 favorites and give at least a couple sentances of review for each entry. Nobody will have score card to mark as they watch or anything like that. The whole judges thing is to ensure that each entry gets an in-depth review and criticism from a handful of educated eyes.
- Is there any limit to the number of people involved in the actual fighting? (I’m guessing no.)
This question was asked before, and the answer is no. You can have as many combatants as you like, and they can weild as many lightsabers as they like, provided they are single-bladed or double-bladed.
