DOH

My bad dude, I forgot to remove that post.

That one was done a while back, although if you have already done the work on it, I will count it as one clip.

So contact me via PM

On second thought, maybe not. Put those back up for anyone to do... I have some troubles seeing the blades against the foliage.

Two lessons to be learned here:

1: Use bright colored blades, like orange or pink.

2: Don't film in a forest.

Yeah...

This was filmed some time ago and I'm sure you've improved your skills since then, but I gotta say, I'm not surprised you've had trouble finding committed roto artists. The footage is not FX-friendly, over- or under-exposed, and frankly not very entertaining. When I take an FX job, frequently it's because I'm interested in seeing the raw footage become the final composition, see the shots fully realized, and I would personally have no interest of that sort in this footage.

I'm not trying to slam you here. Clearly this is a labor of love since you haven't given up on it in years and years (though I would figure by now you could have just rotoed it all yourself and had done with it), but I really do think this IS a significant reason that this has been so difficult for you.

I totally agree with you guys..

PLEASE DON'T think that the filming and pre-production of this has ANY resemblance of MY skills.... Because I did none of it.....

I am the editor....

Not the film maker...

I was only there for a few shots of this film.

And was given the task of turning it into a movie....

So that is what I am trying to do.

I didnt do choreography, I didn't choose the locales, I didn't make the costumes, I didn't hold the camera except for a few shots, I didn't write the story, I was asked to be director, but then not listened too when ALL of this was suggested to the film makers.

To be honest, the highlights of this film ARE not the fighting sequences....

The reason I have stuck with it is because I like the story and ideas in it.

And to get it done.. I don't know if I would call it for the love of it, more like the tired of getting asked when it is coming out from the writers and actors.

This was filmed as you said a while ago, in fact in the spring of 2002 is when it started filming. Filming wrapped up in spring of '03.

I appreciate all the comments and the "constructive criticism". Trust me when I say, if it was my film, it WOULD have been easier to do the FX on....

and also Dorkman... I didn't rotoscope it cause I suck at rotoscoping, in AE anyways, and I am definately not going to roto in Photoshop anymore... I am too busy...

And Dorkman.... I have been around here a while dude....

Ah, I feel your pain. Totally.

And to get it done.. I don't know if I would call it for the love of it, more like the tired of getting asked when it is coming out from the writers and actors.

When they do it their damn selves, that's what I'd say at this point.

That recently? Seems you've been struggling with it longer, heh.

and also Dorkman... I didn't rotoscope it cause I suck at rotoscoping, in AE anyways, and I am definately not going to roto in Photoshop anymore... I am too busy...

That may be so, but come on. In two years you could have gotten a lot better.

And Dorkman.... I have been around here a while dude....

Who said you haven't? confused

Wow, I can see why you might have had trouble finding people to roto the footage. Brown sticks in the woods are not the easiest things to roto. wink

I am quite busy right now with my choreography contest entry to rotoscope, plus some effects my brother and I are working on, or I would help you out.
I might pick up one or two clips at a later time, but I can't commit to anything at this moment.
I hope you find some good rotoscopers to help you.

I agree with the consensus, the blades are dissapearing alot, but Im not entering the choreagraphy contest, so I'll give it my best shot.

Hopefully I'll have somethin to show you in a day or two.

I have deleted the clips that have been finished from the TOROTO folder, so if it's not there anymore... maybe work on another clip.....

Also, if you do blaster shots in a clip also.... it counts as 2 clips.

Every time, the first thing I see is "TOTORO folder".

Now THAT would be a cool fan film.
