I'm looking into getting a shotgun mic and boom but I'm not sure what's the best way to research both items and what's best.

Side-Note: I'll be getting mics for a DVX100B

White posterboard, shoplights with good CFLs, and mylar. Another option is just shooting outside and using mylar/white posterboard as a reflector when needed.

Are the custom title fonts for the Star Wars crawls (SWcrawltitle and SWcrawlbody) still available on TFN? I'm putting the finishing touches on a Star Wars crawl tutorial for After Effects and I'm aware that a lot of people may not have access to the proper fonts (News Gothic and Univers Light Ultra Condensed) so I've said that the custom fonts are available on TFN. I just wanted to double check that.

How can I fashion a C-Stand for cheap? Like ... making my own "c-stand" without buying one. What could be a good substitute for one.

I'm confused about shooting 60i with my DVX100B. I'm reading in the manual and it says "For output and recording, the 24-frame-per-second signal is converted to 60-field-per-second interlaced using "advanced" conversion."

So does that mean when I shoot 24p and I'm shooting a slo-mo scene it will auto-convert to 60i?

If you are working on a project on separate computers ... what is the best way to compress files for one another to maintain quality?

Unrelated to a fan film but I figured this might be a good place to ask a quick question- in FCP (I'm using 4.5, if that matters), how can I rotate a video clip that has a widescreen matte filter on it, without rotating the matte along with it (as would happen if I adjusted the rotation settings under the clip's motion tab)?
