It may show your video as 29.97 fps instead of 23.976 just like a VCR would when paused and using "frame advance". If that is the case, sometimes when you try to advance to the next frame, it will look as if nothing has happened. Just don't count the frames where the text does NOT move forward. That's all there is too it.

DVeditor posted:That's what I did in this tutorial. The speed and such for the originals varies a little because they used a camera and text on a lightbox so it's far from perfect timing. But if you compare the After Effects project to the original crawl from ANH it's as close as I could get it. Hope that helps!
