Ha, I did that to all of 'em when those pics came out. Didn't save it, though.
I didn't do the IL, however. Looks pretty slick. Too bad there isn't a good way to cancel out the shadows, like on his shoulder.

Haha, nice. How'd you do Michelango's nunchakus?
A pretty early design. I am glad the movie was not like this:

A couple I did of me (and some rebels) from a parade the weekend of Mar 29/30. I know that the pics are way more pixellated than the blades...but i went through them really quickly in the 2mins break i had @ wk.

Saberchucks. The blade was coming out the spinning end of it.
Having it come out of both halves seemed excessive. I wish I'd kept that picture, now.

I really really like your sabers. That's the kind of look I go for.

Close to what I'll do too. Similar, very similar.

150, if you're counting by 50 posts per page.

If you don't count the social thread. Although shorter in time, way longer in post count

VaporTrail, I like how the green sort of matches the original lighting in the shot.
Okay, here's something a little different for me. Trying my hand at the colored-cores thing.
Replication reasons are that it's actually fairly prevalent in the films I, IV, V, and VI. If you freeze-frame you might be surprised how often there are colored cores. This is noticeable a lot in Episode I as well as Episode V. (I'm talking about before the DVD release goofs, though.)
Artisically I'm trying it because a limitation with using solid-white cores is that all of the color for the sword has to come from the aura. Now, if it's a real light source that's okay because interactive lighting tells the tale where an actual glowing aura might not be too visible. To those that can fake interactive lighting, you've noticed that a little can go a long way to selling a shot.
But basically I noticed that if one colored the core just a little bit, a lot more could be done with just a little aura, without having to blow it out and saturate it all to hell.
Here's what I came up with as a test, looking at reference photos from Episodes I and V though not necessarily trying to replicate them exactly.
I'll be honest, at first glance after I drew it I was a little put off by how pink the red sword looked, but after re-examining Episode I, I realized this was often the case. And after looking at it a bit I can see how it can sell in motion.
Thoughts?
Andy

The outer glow should be stronger.

Looks good enough, but the most common reason for the cores being colored in TPM, is because of the color correction the film went through after all the effects were integrated. The original sabers were no doubt white. Core-wise. But yeah, those look pretty near the original TPM sabers, if still-framed, so you did a good job.
