Thanks! grin

Fig, I know you asked about general reactions and while I already mentioned my college class, I got an e-mail from Michael Wiese (Hardware Wars creator, publishing company owner, etc.) and he said this:

"CK !

Just watched your terrific doc on FAN FILMS. Learned a lot! Beautifully researched and put together. I am very impressed by the visual quality of the pieces you presented. While HARDWARE WARS went for the "cheesy" look, things have evolved since. (Of course we didn't have the software and had to scratch our laser blasts directly on the emulsion of the film!)

Anyway, what a terrific piece and I wish you lots of success with it. You deserve it!

Cheers and best wishes,

Michael Wiese
Producer, Hardware Wars"

(yes, used with permission wink )

That sort of statement is always encouraging and I could read e-mails like that alllllll day. tongue

Hey rory, will there be a high rez version of JS or its sequel released to us? lol

I wish! The Canon GL-1 is not a high rez camera. But most of the Cg rendering will be made in a high resolution anyways...

Oh and no offense taken DV!!!

Nice work, CK. Came out good. Informative and pretty pro-feeling, aside from the flat lighting on yourself. wink

Thanks for the comments and especially the voiceover/footage - it really helped tie everything together and catch people's attention due to RvD and such. grin

I finally just watched it.

Pretty cool. I agree with everyone else that you kinda look CG. But on closer inspection, I could tell that your facial movements were too realistic to be CG. tongue

By the way, I actually paused it at one point where it showed a clip from something called "For The Motherland". It looked awesome, is it availavble online? And if so, could you provide a link?

That production was made by PLP Films and can be found here. Loved the use of color and lighting in that one. grin

Thanks for watching!
