I cut my finger. That's tragedy. A man walks into an open sewer and dies. That's comedy.

Chillin' at Phoenix International right now. Been here an hour and a half, still have two hours to go before my hour-and-twenty-minute flight to LAX. I got to see some pretty cool stuff toward the end of the flight though. We skimmed the south edge of a big storm as we started our decent into Phoenix, this was the last of over 60 pictures I look from the air (I can be caught taking tons of pictures of clouds any other day, put me at 34,000 ft and what do you expect? tongue )

EDIT: Oh yeah, I also saw something I've never seen before while we were still over Nebraska or Kansas somewhere. As my face was plastered to the window listening to MacBreak Weekly, another plane came from the opposite direction a few thousand feet below us (uneducated guess). Doing about 560 MPH in opposite directions, I didn't really get a good picture...

Maybe, but you're pretty dang close.

E1PPM, so I'll say something else... uh, did a photoset with my car the other day... it's amazing how close the post-apocalyptic future is to my house.

(Actual pictures are here.) That's actually an old school that's gonna be demolished later this year sad

Fine fine, I'll paint out the wing. Picky people...I had a nice view tonight, albeit limited on camera angles (no tripod):

I'm a lil worried about the new Captain America movie..... The comic book kinda died after it's pre WW2 creation, I just dont think it will fit well into contemporary society. The ideal of CAPTAIN AMERICA, ever since the 50's, people disliked it and the comic has failed and struggled. America is a much different place then it was when that character that stood for this country was peaked, now, this country is an dark empire. I cant think of anything patriotic about the USA anymore. I don't even stand for the national anthem anymore, to me, I look at the american flag and think of all the messed up things our country is doing and has been doing, not the 1941 ideal, go usa, innocent vision people once had...

Plus, he only has a stupid shield, and is strong..... wt*? I predict, it will sink like a rock!

Maybe, just maybe, a WWII-era Cap being thawed out into modern, unpatriotic society, will be the point of the film. I mean, how would he deal with the modern era and the "war on terror?"

I think it could be fairly interesting, myself. peace

You definitely need to read more Captain America. And the Civil War doesn't count (except for his battle against Spidey in ASM #534, as Parker's thoughts on Cap pretty much summarize why the character just plain rocks).
Besides, you'll need something to occupy your time until 2011.

The only thing you've explained is the loose premise of his character, and some of it isn't even correct. I definitely wouldn't say a comic selling over 210 million copies since the initial release has 'died since its creation'. Every comic created decades ago has struggled and come back, gone through different volumes and re-starts. Sometimes you just have to let the story stop for a while, then bring it back again.

I don't think your problems are with Cap, they seem to be with America.
Which is not to be confused with the American government, as this is an entirely different animal.

I think a patriotic lift-me-up would do us some good. I am looking forward to seeing if they'll jab any sort of political commentary into that film, but once again, it's gonna be a while before we even get news about this film, so you may want to find a different boiling point for a while.

I'm kind of hoping they don't go the so-called 'Austin Powers' route. Really, what I'd like is to spend a lot of time with him in the WWII era in his own film, establish him as the national hero that he was, then bring him into the present near the middle or end, and really modernize him in the Avengers film which'll come out a couple months later.

I'm hoping for something like this, rather than the usual quickie origin story.

... Hotdogs...

That's pretty much the only thing that I could think of. Some fatty food that's made up of a bunch of left over meat from the factory... plain
