Greetings talented TFM Roto Masters.
We have just filmed a new fan duel called Darth Sybot VS Darth Nihilus .
Most of you know who Darth Nihilus us from KOTOR2
Im the movie I play Nihilus and LAJedi`s Cosmo please Darth Sybot.
I am still capturing all the footage and will post about 25, 5 second clips that I am asking help to roroscope.
All the sabers are red .
I will do some of the Roto, but I would really love some help from my talented TFN friends.
Please PM me or post in here if intersted.
The fan film in a nutshell goes.
Darth Sybot kills a female sith.
Lightning comes from the dead sith girls body into Sybot. (just like in Kotor 2 what the exile kills a Jedi and takes his power)
Then Sybot is strong with the darkside (complete with sith eyes)
Then Darth Nihilus puts his possible future deciple to the test in a dual (like Dooke did to Ventres in Clone wars 1)
Thats a break down.
Here is a quick poster I put together,

Nice job on the costumes. I've just got a couple of points to share.
You're more likely to get help with this project if:
- The scene is edited together as one piece, without the "action" and "cut" and fade in/fade out on every clip.
- The project is not in WMV format. It's just not very compatible. Perhaps if it were in AVI or MPEG, but not WMV.
Also, I'm curious as to whether or not there's an actual story backing up this fight. Is there?
With some decent editing and a story, this could be a pretty solid fight flick. I hope it works out for.
Thanks for reading, and the best of luck to you!

I needed to have small clips not one big clip since my computer does not handle adding saber sound to long clips very well.
The fade in`s and outs will all get edited out after the effects and sound are added, when I arrange the movie in the timeline. .
The wmv format I can change, but these wmvs are good quality (each to share) and load right into After Effects.
But I have no prod capturing scenes in avi format for peeps, just tell me what scene and it will be done.

That fading is really annoying. So I agree on what DVCPRO-HDeditor said.

The fades are NOT going to be in the film, they will all be edited out.
Just think of it as the dirrector saying action.
Every fan film I have worked on TOD and such sent me small 5 to 20 sec clips.
I though that was just how its done when many people are working on a project

Awesome, did you look through the clips, did you want to do any piticulay clip or clips out of the 20 clips?
Also did you want me to provide a avi of is the format its in cool for you?
Thanks!!
DVCPRO-HDeditor the story behind the film is Darth Nihilus looking for a worthy apprentice
Then putting that apprentice to the test.
This film will lead up to our next film the Battle Royal, that will feature over 20 LAJedi.com members.

I just watched the clips, GREAT costumes, poor choreography, and the camera is very shaky, even in the long shots.
Seems like you could have something very cool with the costumes and such, but I would re-think/reshoot.

I agree, though I'm not saying scrap this whole duel and re-do it entirely. Finish this one. You'll feel much better about your ability to actually finish a project if you do. As has been said, the costumes are great, but the other areas are lacking. I'd like to see these characters again, but I think for a battle between two Sith, a midday duel in a park with a bunch of long shots isn't going to do them justice.

The choreography is going to look much better when edited all together and speeded up a tad Truse me Black_Chameleon.

Just a word of warning, though having it edited together and sped up will make it look a bit better, it probably won't help as much as you think. I thought the same thing with my current project, and found out it wasn't was good as I thought. Remember, post-production can get you pretty far, but it's the production and preproduction that really count.

Please omit scene 13
I also have a scene I didn`t add to thst zip packet of scenes.
It`s about a 30 to 40 seconds of non stop lightsaber choreography (Nihilus & Sybot).
That should add some seasoning to the mix.
Thank`s for those that are showing support.
Hey is anyone good with the lightsaber through back Roto for
Scene 2 : Sith girl gets killed by Sybot ending with a saber shoved through her belly coming out the middle of her back.
?
I never did pull off a successful saber cauterization rotoscoping scene.
