Well, our entry has turned out to be more of a short film with a story....that just has a brief lightsaber fight IN it. We'll go ahead and submit it as an entry. Fat chance of us placing decently in the rankings though haha.

You on a pc? Use camtasia. It has built-in editing that makes life easier.
You on a mac? Use ScreenFlow. None above, none at the side. Even Techsmith's "jing" (same people that makes camtasia) sucks. But that's mainly becuase it's free, and limits your uploads to their servers, with no editing capabilites.

Hey guys, I might have to drop out. I don't know yet, but I'm only sixteen and I just got kicked out of my house... an hour ago, and I had to leave my camera and props there. I don't know when my dad will let me back in the house (he made me leave my keys), so until I talk to my partner tomorrow, I'm out. I have nothing left except a youtube video of my first choreography session...
God, I have a chemistry test tomorrow and I just got kicked out of my house... A higher power must hate me.

Wow. 16 and kicked out? Seriously? Well, I'm sorry to hear that. He's gotta let you in before night falls.
Right?
But, uh... so... um... what did you do?

Um, I'm staying with a friend for now, and my report card arrived today... then several words were exchanged full of lots of history that I don't feel like going into. Well... I don't know, I'm sure things will work out, But we do really need our space right now.
Oh, I failed chemistry and got a D in Geometry and History, so he had a right to be angry. Kick me out... I don't know about that part, but angry, yes. I'm just going to have to do better next time... until then, I don't know. I'm still pretty shaken up, so I don't know how clear my typing is right now...
EDIT: Oh, thank for your support, it does mean a lot right now.

Well, sure he has every right to be angry, I guess. His mind set is: "I pay every year for my son to be in school and get educated, and he goes off and blows his grades".
So he probably has some frustration, and with the exchange of gnarly words, I couldn't really say much, considering I don't have any involvement with it.
Just sounds pretty intense man.
Hope it works well.

Ouch, that stings man. But look on the bright side; you're still in school. I dropped out. At least you're trying. And yes, kicking you out is to jump a little too far. To be sent to your room, that you might have deserved
Hope it'll all solve itself peacefully from now on

America.
In norway, all schools (except the some 20 private ones) are free. Our parents might be angry, but it's really none of their business whether we rule at school or not. I'm a dropout too, and I still think it was a good choice to do 5 years ago.

I'm seriously considering dropping out of school at the moment... Long story, but I'm bloody sick of it.
Especially in my Film/Media class. We do friggen theory for 3/4 of each term and 1/4 of prac. We have to wait till next year to actually make a proper movie, where-as all the other college's around here have already shot/edited 2 films...
So I tell my teacher: "I know all this s***" and she's like "yeah I know you do, but you're not getting a camera until you prove it". I said "well i pretty much can't prove it without a camera!". Anyway at the end of the term I go back and talk to her after topping the class by miles (i finished top, and the 2nd best person got almost 40% lower than me... not kidding) and say "here's your proof"... Still no **** camera. I'm pissed off!

That's how it was at my school too. I didn't have as many in-depth production courses as I would have liked, but doing it the way you're describing sounds like the standard. It's not a quantity thing.
Simmer. You can prove it without a camera. 'Screaming about it won't change anything'. I didn't start making videos for classes until about Junior year, and even then it wasn't really anything spectacular. Just pay attention, you might be surprised and learn something new.

I'm having the first choreography session in a few minutes. An idea I had was to make the duel like a music-video. But I don't know.

Yeah, that sucks. Filmmaking is my life, but so far the film classes I've been in have just been "watch movies and write papers on them." Almost everything I know about filmmaking comes from doing things on my own, by myself. The other bit of knowledge comes from everything and everyone here at TFN (Thanks guys ). Sometimes the teacher would give us projects, but only a handful of us actually did any of them, and only I was genuinely interested.
I remember one time I had had surgery, and then came to class the very next day, despite being rather tired and weak, because I wanted to work on a project with my group. It had already been put off for a couple of weeks because of some reason or another, but I was determined to get it done. For the most part I had already planned out the film. All we really had to do was practice for a couple days, and then shoot it. Simple. But when I came in, I found that one of my partners had dropped the class and the other was assigned to a different project. Then the teacher also put me on something else. That was it. The film I wanted to do had been killed. And by the very man who told me to do it in the first place, no less.
And earlier this semester I registered for a class where I believe that we were actually going to do some cool stuff, and it seemed like the other students were rather enthusiastic. But then the college canceled it because there weren't enough people registered for it. This is me--->
Boy, complaining sure is fun!
