All done and entered. Anyone know roughly how long it takes to know whether you've been accepted into the Atom Films arms?

I would say that if you haven't heard from atomfilms 7 days after the May 27th deadline, you didn't make it. Atomfilms will not give you a rejection notice until the movies are up online for competition.

They need time to get your paper work in order and put the films online so I would say if you don't hear from Atomfilms the week after the May 27th deadline. The film didn't make it.

Also, not sure if it's *still* the rule (atomfilms is blocked from wk so can't dbl check), but make sure you don't post the version you send them anywhere. I think they have (or used to have) a rule about it being posted elsewhere.

They used to have that rule, last year it was dropped.

Even if they reinstate the rule for some reason, the exclusivity doesn't kick in unless you sign their contract. THEN you'd have to remove the other copies, but until then it doesn't matter.

I'm betting the exclusivity rule is gone for good anyway.

They don't care about the posted elsewhere rule anymore. Example is Death of JarJar from last year. It was on youtube before it was accepted and is still on youtube.

Don't worry about the paper work, if selected Atomfilms will work with you on that.

Just make sure you do have all the rights to the music.
1.When I did "pinball wars" I created the music in Apple's Soundtrack. I needed to give them the serial number to the program I created the music on or at least some number of the Soundtrack program. (it was in 2004 so I can't remember)

2. For the sound effects, I used stuff from the Star Wars Pinball machine (which was fine with them) but I downloaded some free sound effects off the internet and I had to get written permission from the owner (even though his website stated I could use his sound effects) So be prepared for that!

3. I remember I had to blur a Coke image in the video. Can't have anything in the film that is copyrighted. (with the exeption of Lucasfilm stuff...or anything you have permission to use)

4. All actors have to sign a paper stating it's o.k. to be in the film.

5. Need to have permission to film on site. In my case we owned the building so it was cool.

Well, that's a few things I remember but if selected Atomfilms works with you.


I don't think "Cinemagic" will be selected this year (it wasn't last year) but in the event it is. I might have a problem if I need to get signatures from all the model makers that helped off of Scifi3d.com. Maybe the Scifi Agreement Form is good enough...not sure. But in my case I think it is a mute point anyway. Though I think I have a cool idea for next year! happy

Well I would imagine acceptance letters went out last week or today for those who made it. (Just an assumption) The filmmakers would need time to get all the paper work together for their films.

Cinemagic didn't make the cut again. It didn't last year but I was hoping maybe it was because I didn't send it off through the mail (I know wishful thinking) and felt maybe if I cut out the intro with Lucas behind the scenes it might of helped. Oh well...

Trevor_lamb said one year atomfilms only gave 5 days to get the paperwork back. I'm not giving up yet! lol Anyone get accepted yet?

I'll lose hope about this time next week. My rejection letter came about the three week mark last time. It's only been two weeks since I submitted.

According to atomfilms they receive a LOT of entries. Maybe they don't send out all the acceptance/rejection letters at the same time? COuld have been a coincidence.

we got in last year with The Fan Film. which was alright, but this years is much better. i just hope they see that! : )

I did submit the Episode 2 (part1) for The Lost Faith... But I have not received anything from Atomfilms (or is it Mtv??) ... I contacted their staff, and from what I heard, they are still in the selection process... But I guess we should be receiving the paperwork (if accepted) by the end of this week.

Been two weeks since i uploaded the film... its still saying 'awaiting for further review'! This waiting game is driving me loopy! LOL!
