VaporTrail posted: It would be nice if people who want to see FKaD watch TKaJ first. This isn't a concern for a while, obviously, but it'd probably be a little helpful when it comes time to watch my film.
It wouldn't be that hard to load up the DVD quality on Vimeo, provided no one here disagrees.

Well, someone did already put it up on YouTube...
I'd have to recompress it to put it under the 500mb mark, but this is doable (unless an idea I had to trick Vimeo works).
Maybe. That gets a definite maybe.

I don't have a DVD version, but I found my CD backup of TKAJ and tossed it online here: linkage
I'll leave it up there, but I agree a good quality version should go on Vimeo for posterity and easier viewing. Just, please, deinterlace it first.

Maybe I'll just go ahead and try a render for Vimeo tonight, see if I can't spare you some bandwidth. It just always feels weird to think about uploading someone else's stuff to my page. Especially in this instance.

Alright.
Compressing this thing is not proving easy. Divx doesn't want to even initiate it in AE or Vegas for some reason. Quicktime won't be small enough, plus it makes it look terrible.
Suggestions? 500mb is the target.

WTH??? That he, isn't that a she??? (*Will*) That is just wacky dude! C'mon!>?!??
I think this looks bad. The scene is long, pointless, acting flat, the dialouge sucks, and I have no freakin clue whats happening other then the fact that it is of no interest to me... thats blunt. Sorry.
Other then that, I don't know what is positive at all about this other then the fact that it's getting done which is kick ass on your part Vapes, though, this one, I will pass on seeing upon release... But at least your getting it done, so kudo's.

Just threw the teaser at the end on YouTube. The darker shots don't show up great, but it's just a temporary teaser, really. You'll be sure to click 'Watch in High Quality', if you know what's good for you.

Props to John for finding it before I even post a link, though.

Don't wanna knock the teaser; I'm glad to see more material on it. It just didn't get interesting or tell anything about the film until the lightsabers showed up. (Heh, doesn't that just sound so stereotypically geeky?)
Obviously we who are following the film know what its about, and if it was just for us or your cast & crew, then cool. But if it was meant to broaden the buzz and show to new people totally removed from the film, it doesn't say anything about it. It's just an assortment of medium/close shots of people who we as an unassuming audience have no connection to.
Still, very cool to see anything promoting the project. And props for using that creepy Laz-over-the-booth-bench shot.

Actually, agreed. Great teaser for the cast and crew, "Something's getting done." An actual teaser will be done with the real imported footage and have some dialogue in it, right?

Since you use Vegas, try rendering .mp4 selecting MainConcept AVC/AAC (this encodes to .h264), progressive scan, PAR - 1.0000, check the Variable bit rate and two-pass boxes, and choose a bit rate that gets it down under 500 mb. It should look pretty good. It also helps if you edit in 1080, then render to 1280 x 720. The other option is to render uncompressed 1080, then use QT pro to render to .h264 at 1280 x 720 (or 720 x 405 if Vimeo is not your intended host)
