Hi there,

I am a new user to the boards and I am starting my own fan edit, as I have no knowledge of editing I thought I would teach myself rotoscoping, I managed to grab a segment of the Lightsaber battle between Vader and Ben from Episode IV, I imported it into Adobe Premier and then exported the frams as a flm file.

I then imported the flm file into Adobe photoshop and rotoscoped the blades in each image segment, so I could get used to the program I rotoscoped Vaders Saber green, now when I had finished the job rotoscoping I rendered the footage back into a movie.

I was impressed with what I managed to come up with however the original red aura that surrounds Vaders blade is showing through..Is there any way for me to remove this in an easy way or would it require me painting out the original sabers frame by frame??

In after effects, just mask the lightsaber normally. Then, feather the edges, use hue/saturation to de-saturate the saber's color. Then, go to stylize>glow and mess with the threshhold. Works for me.

By the way, you can see results of this in my AOTC Re-Glow Project http://boards.theforce.net/Message.aspx?topic=28103297&brd=10015&start=28103630
