Someone did a really good sound edit on my LCC entry from a few years ago. He mentioned it wasn't his, but he didn't mention it was mine...

The was a guy that tried to rip off David Adametz's LCC3 duel a while ago, boy did he get it.
That was actually someone claiming it was his though, which is different from the effects test nature of this video.

I've got to agree with Dorkman on this one. Granted, while it is true that the kid shouldn't have put his film logo on the video, its messed up to destroy the kid for doing an effects test.
(Oh, and as for the official rotoscoping, I'm open if you need me.)

While it's nice of everyone to be protective of each others' work, the Rv* stuff is basically released to the world under an unspoken "Creative Commons" license -- we should probably make it a spoken one. Distribute it freely, make alterations all you like, as long as you credit the source -- which he seems to be doing. Newbies are always looking for raw footage to practice on, and RvB2 in particular would be a perfect source of it.
If Ryan and/or Brandon have a problem with it, then that's one thing. But tearing this kid a new one just because he saw a good opportunity to practice his skills is pretty messed up.

Just the other night I gave away a bunch of the AE project files for the force lightning shots in AvN because A) I don't care about people messing around with my stuff (it's actually quite flattering) and B) five minutes out of my night to upload some half-meg files and send some links is nothing for me, but may just make that person's day. I also noticed I had some raw footage on my server still so I gave them that too. AvN is actually up on YouTube several times already, but I've noticed going through the comments that the posters have emphasized time and time again that it's not their video, which allowed me to just go in and answer questions without having to sort out any accusations.
I guess it's my way of contributing to my view of a world without DRM and crazy stupid copyright laws and whatnot
