This was all done in Blender using my method for lighsabers which I modified to do some lasers, even the sound was added using Blender.
I'm hopefully getting a Mac Pro this week, so I'll be making a video tutorial for my method.

If your spending the money to get a Mac pro, you should get Final Cut Pro and/or AE to go with it.
