Short light saber

What would be a good lenght for a short light saber? I'm planning on useing 2 short while my wife uses a single regular saber. I think it's called a shonto or something from the books?

I've used anywhere from 18 to 22 inches (from the emitter). It differs based on a persons body length. Just start at 28 and work your way down based on comfort. Once you get to the place that "just feels right", take an extra inch off.

at 00:45 of the video I use the concept of a " Dagger" like blade, that one
was aprox.12 inches form the emitter and worked nicely;
unless you want it safer than 18 to 24 would be a good size piont if you are dueling.

The lightdaggers I used to use were 17 inches, but I found them to be too short, so I changed them to 24 inches.

Personally I like the overall length to be anywhere from 30" to 36" for 1-handed swords/lightsabers.

half size. standard is 36-40 inches, so a dagger would be more like 17-20.

Youngling saber length.
In fact, if you truly want to show a character is evil, have him murder a youngling, and then use their saber as a symbol of his ultimate bad-assery.
