Keylight/Lighting Issue

does anyone else have issuse with keylight and lighting in after effects?
I've had the same issue in both 6.5, 7.0, and CS3. (pros)
Here's the problem.
Lightning (regular and adv.) will randomly lose its amplitude.
I have to go back into the original comp and fool with the random seed of each layer to "get it going" again.
And with keylight.
There will be 1 random frame where keylight just doesn't work. It will key out the green in the frame, but there will be a grey or white in the place of the layer underneath.
It will key for every frame but that one.
Am i the only one this happens to?

I've seen the exact same thing.
Haven't found a workaround or fix for it, but then I haven't done that much research into it. I use another keyer plugin instead, so it hasn't been urgent.
If Keylight didn't have that problem, I'd probably use it all the time. The random glitching is the only reason I don't.

Ok, good to know i'm not the only one...or maybe not good.
I'm trying the magic bullet keyer, but i'm still learning.

One thing I discovered with keylight was that there might be a memory leak: it will fill up your RAM during render pretty quickly. I went into the edit->preferences->memory&cache and dialed back the "maximum RAM cache size" a little (from 60% down to 50%) and my (simliar but not quite exactly what you described) problem has never resurfaced. Won't hurt to try it, afaik.
