Alright guys, whilst editing my new film I just now realized that one of my shots has the boom-mic in it. Sort of disappointed about that but no biggie. How would I go about editing that out of my footage? Thanks.

Just crop it out of the footage. Not much else you CAN do unless you feel up to painting out, frame by frame.

Quoted for truth. I've done this on so many short projects: Shoot 4:3, then slap a 16:9 mask over it, adjusting the footage to get the perfect headroom for interviews, regardless of which monkey shot it.
But if you shot in 16:9, go for the more slender mask. You'll have to do a lot of image repositioning, but it's soooo worth it. And after it's all said and done, and people ask you why you chose such a slim view, you can give some crap-tastic answer about how artistic you are.

Alright, thanks guys. I'll probably just edit it out frame-by-frame. Any more suggestions would be appreciated, thanks again.

Cropping is the thing to do. You can't always control the boom, especially when you are focused on directing. Sometimes you can leave it in if it's not really that noticable. Funny, I remember when I was a projectionist at a big chain movie theater, the framing was off a bit and when I went to fix it, I could see the boom mic in many shots. The final print of a big hollywood movie can still have the boom in it, and you just have to hope for a good projectionist.

^^^^Do this. If you want to keep your aspect ratio, just blow the image up a little bit for that specific shot and move the image up so the boom mic is cut off the picture. Don't do more than what is necessary under these cirumstances.
Of course leave enough head room for the talent. Don't want to cut off any heads.

Alright here is what the shot looks like...
So what should I do about the boom-microphone? It's very small and unnoticeable but I still know it's there. Obviously, I decided to draw the shot rather than to show you because I don't want to spoil anything, I hope you can understand. Thanks.

Oh gosh... that's a pain. Are you shooting on a background you can perhaps mask it? With a position like that, you could try and crop the shot from a horizontal stand point, but you'll have to stretch it and cause bigger issues. The only thing I can think of is to try and mask it somehow.

is it going to be shown on the web or just on a TV/DVD.
it looks like it might be out of visual safe - in which case i wouldn't worry too much.
if it's gonna be compressed on the web, blow up the image and reposition the frame to the right - the loss of quality will be unnoticeable on a compressed web version.
anyway,
