Wow, my first topic. :P
This is my first attempt at recreating the regeneration effect from Doctor Who. Feed back would be welcome.

Anything that could be improved. (I know that it's not quite accurate, but it's close.)

Not at all bad. This is my version of the effect:

You need to do some masking - the regeneration energy is bursting from holes in clothes (notably the neck and arms) and you need to make sure the clothes occlude the particles properly. Also, for an actual regeneration rather than just energy, you need to get some morphing in there, unless it's supposed to be like the cop-out pseudo regeneration from Friday's episode .
I did my version, which was as part of a portfolio project for university, with Combustion but only because I had to. I'd have much preferred to have a crack with After Effects - maybe I will before the summer is up.
EDIT: For foreign fellows not familiar with the new series, this is the official version from the show. Skip to 2.23 to see the actual effect if you're not bothered by the dialogue.

Ah yes, I should have pointed out that I was going for the energy.
I'll work on the masking, thanks.
And your version looks a hell of a lot closer than mine. Bugger. :P
