AE Color Correction

A short film that I am working on is at the color correction phase. My only question is how do I go about getting the footage to AE. If I export one big file from Final Cut into AE the setting's that I apply to one scene gets added to the whole video. Would I have to export each clip from Final Cut then export the clips back to Final Cut afterwards? Any help would be great. Thanks.

To play devil's advocate:
What's stopping you from just color correcting in FCP? It's got some pretty great tools built in. Unless you've got some fancy AE plugins I don't know about.

use adjustment layers in AE to apply color correction. time the adjustment layers to begin and end with the individual clips. Or set keyframes to change the values of any effects you apply. It's fairly simple I would think.

AE is a great tool for colour correction. Use adjustment layers, that are set to the same length as the shot you're working on. It's a bit tedious, but yes, I work from one big render from my editing software.

I hear ya, but there's a reason why FCP is industry-standard. Sure, it doesn't enable masking for colour timing specific prats of the shot, but all-in-all, it's a great piece of software that handles mostly everhing.

It's only "industry-standard" as an editor. Industry-standard for color correction is da Vinci.
Even Apple acknowledges that FCP is inadequate as a color corrector -- why else would they have acquired FinalTouch (now Color)?

I would have edited in Premiere(*gasps*)
Import all the edits into AE, no generation loss...

I know that Premiere is really not innovative or cutting edge anymore, but I dont need it for anything but the cuts of the video. If I need a transition, I just overlay the video and know that I'll do it in AE.
No Generation loss means that the original video files are used in the import into AE, and only the cuts are retained from the premiere file. Imagine how tedious it would be to edit in AE(I know, I've done it) but it does all the cuts for you, and leaves them so you can apply still tweak them or apply effects to only certain layers.
