	We only know him as a fellow fanfilmer, but (assumming he did commit the crime), there's a lot of talk here about connection to the fanfilm community. I doubt this forum will ever be related in any way, shape, or form to what happenned. If I were to commit a murder (hypothetically, of course ), there would be a lot of other elements of my life besides TFN that could be connected. Soccer, school, family, friends, other miscellanious hobbies. Honestly, TFN has very little if any signifigance in my life. It is one of the several forums I go on when I have nothing else to do. Point being this probably won't give fan films a "bad name", and although it's possible, I'm not sure his love of star wars and an imaginary world manifested itself and had him commit the crime. 	The way SW will get a bad name from this is because he made SOTR and used people from the 501st and the Fan Force in Edmonton. 	Hmm, remind me never to write scripts involving insidious murder plots that may actually, by pure chance, happen (or at least appear to happen) in my vincinity. 	i also knew mark, i'm from edmonton and he was in our local fanforce. i also work in the local media and i can tell you this is definalty no joke. it doesn't seem to be playing up much on the starwars element just small mentions here and there about the secrets of the rebellion more focused on the serial killer script. my station got a copy of the actual script and it seems to be from the point of view of the writer writing about personal experiences http://www.globaltv.com/globaltv/edmonton/index.html

	It could reflect badly on us as a community, thought, if the news media keeps speculating instead of just reporting. For instance: someone is a part of a car club at school, plays football, lives with his single father, and plays video games. You tell me what part of his life is going to get the rap, and then tell me why something as socially obscure as fanfilming wouldn't, especially as video games get more and more mainstream and there's more public resistance to just blaming them. 	Another angle I was thinking about, however unlikely, would be if this makes Lucasfilm a little bit more strict with the allowance of fan media. 	Lucasfilm w/ tighter restriction on fanfilms? This alleged homicide and star wars fan films have nothing to do with each other. Maybe the guy belongs to another forum about cats because he's a cat lover (corniest thing I could think of). Are they going to put a tighter restriction on pet owners? This is one insignificant part of a man's life.
