Hey that is pretty awesome. I like using fcheck but I can't save out an avi if I like what I see. Then you gotta load up the editing suite....
This thing has color correction too!

The software made to view your VFX work... that's trying to be a VFX program...?

Nuke comes with an app like this called FrameCycler.
At this product's price point, I could see it being very useful for folks doing heavy VFX compositing work in Shake or even AE.
Have fun.

FrameCycler used to rule.
Then it Adobe'd out and became far, far too complicated for a piece of software called "FrameCycler."

Too complicated?
...you can't figure out how to play image sequences with it any more?

vs.
Yeah, this new one looks more like a player and less like a program. But then again, it's better to have features and not need them then the other way 'round.

That is correct.
EDIT: To clarify, I rarely used FrameCycler even a couple versions ago when it was easier to intuit how it worked. Every time I approach it, it's essentially as a complete stranger to the program.
I did use it several times, successfully importing a sequence and playing it back, two years ago. I've tried to use it in the past few months several times, and couldn't do the one thing it's supposed to be able to do without question.
I'm relatively retarded, it's true, but I feel like they've encountered a problem of interface when a program that is designed to play back frames is too complicated to be used for its priority purpose by anyone other than an intermediate user. It's like having a printer that doesn't print very well.

FrameCycler Pro in particular has become more like a grading system than a simple "frames go here, play button here" interface. The version you're used to may not be the latest.

I hate it when even the simplest of apps designed to do mainly one thing evolve waaay too much. Take "Nero", for example. Up to and counting version 6. Nero 7 included a media player, some scout software and whatnots, when all I wanted to do was burn a friggin disc, which seemed to be near-impossible. iTunes has also over-evolved, but at least the general purpose is still easy to do, along with all the new feats that are almost as easy to figure out on your first go.
I guess apps like this should be load and play, not trying to be a compositor/editor in the same time. People will get confused. ..
Just look at Teague CRYSTIE(pun)
