I made a few changes to the banner and leftstrip.
I changed the "THEFORCE.NET" font to something a little more...none goofy looking.  banner_edit
And I totally changed the leftstrip because of a good point someone made about it looking to congested. leftstrip_edit

Excellent Seth, excellent.
Only comment is that the left side bar seems just a little cluttered. You don't want it to be too loud there, as the focus should remain on the posts themselves.
By the way Carl, that's an XL-1, not a GL-2 :-)

Seth, also you may want to put sa bit of some program interface in homage to Visual FX artists. The film reel and camera takes care of Directors, Actors, etc... But you may want to illustrate some software there too. Thats what I liked about Dez's idea.

I edited the leftstrip, take a look leftstrip_edit_2. I didn't have any place to put the "program interface", but I'm quite happy with the layout and this is probably the final edit. final product

I like it, but I like seth's better. I think arfour might win if he didn't have actual pictures of fan film in his.
The problem I see with putting pictures in the fan film boarder is that movies get old ane newer, better movies come out. You don't want people looking at our banner and going, "God, these people are losers don't they know that Storm Ahead kicked Dark Skies around, what are they thinking putting that pic on there?" or "man this forum is biased to Dark Skies, come on".
I like the neutral images that Seth used and how well he put them together, my vote now goes to Seth.
