From the looks of it, nobody else had had this problem, but...I downloaded the film and everytime it gets to a certain point in the film - somewhere around 29 or 30 min - my computer totally freezes up...I tried manually going past the spot and it froze then too....I have never had such a problem before...btw I am talking about the quicktime version....

I very much enjoyed that story. Very well told too. The minor things that I didn't like have been covered already, so all I can say is: given the high standards of this film, and how much you've learned while making it, I sure hope we'll see more of your work (not necesarily a sequel, this was a well-rounded story and I'm sure you have others to tell as well) in the future. Looking forward to the extras about this movie too. Congratulations Scott and team!

One thing that stood out during the lightsaber fights was that there were no screen flashes when the lightsabers came into contact.

Congratulations on its completion. I'm sure you're relieved the final product is done.

Kudos on the use of CG stunt doubles.

Not a perfect execution but a good start.

Wow! Congrats on completing such an epic fanfilm. I was especially blown away by the opening minutes that were done on bluescreen/greenscreen. Very well done. In my opinion, the senate scene was one of the coolest in a fanfilm yet. grin There were some sound issues already mentioned but I'm not going to nitpick because it really didn't detract from the viewing experience.

Thanks for sharing happy

I found the sound mixing for this film pretty bad. Music and sound effects constantly drowned out the speech, which was fuzzy at the best of times. Consequently, I got very lost. It looks as if there are some good ideas in there, some nice stylistic choices, but I got totally confused on the story because the dialogue quality (and low level throughout much of the film) didn't let me hear what was going on. Therefore, I'd like someone to explain the story to me and let me give a more detailed opinion once I know what the heck's going on.

Sorry Darth Paul, that's the worst case I have heard yet about sound. It's possible you have your base turned way up, that it could be drowning out the audio much more than it does for other viewers. (There is a lot of base audio). I may end up going back and doing a version with the music turned *way* down though.

I had the same problem darth_paul is talking about, and I downloaded the divx version. I kept having to mess with the volume while watching it, and THAT'S just annoying. In the end, it was difficult to even understand the story because of it.

Man, I'm really sorry to hear you guys had such sound problems. I ran through both versions of the movie and didn't notice such drastic problems myself, but I do see the potential. We had some problems in that department as Scoot said. Here's the story (short form) until you guys can hear the audio. Soory in advance for the typos happy

Opening:

As opening credits roll, the senate discusses the fate of the Jedi. The senator you see in the middle is giving a speech about the "problems" the republic is having with the Jedi. Other senators chime in to agree or disagree.

Platform:

One year later, two inquisitors (Jedi Hunters) are preparing to leave a refueling station. One inquisitor (my char, Inquisitor #2) is venting about being stuck hunting down escaped Jedi in the outer rim. Soonter (Scott's char) makes a half-hearted attempt to rationalize the situation with his annoyed partner. Inquisitor #2 confronts his partner about leaving witnesses alive on their last mission. As the two near the ship, Darth Rann can be seen in the distance. Soontar must explain and defend his choice to leave people alive on the last mission. Rann, while not satisfied, has no time to deal with Soontar. Rann communicates with Sidius and employs Inquisitor #2 to moniter his partner. Once in the cockpit, Inquisitor #2 wars Soonter that he is pushing Rann too far. Soontar downloads the mission to kill two Jedi stowed away aboard a cargo container on another rim planet.

"Earth-like" Planet:

The Inquisitors land and discuss the situation with the local militia. The inept militia managed to get blasters stolen and explain that only one Jedi has a lightsabre. (I mean lightsaber) The two Inquisitors discuss who will do what at the door. After the fight, Soontar stops his partner from finishing the job. The troops don't listen to Soontars command to halt. The commander makes a sarcastic remark about the dead Jedi and Soontar snaps. Inquisitor #2 clears the room and tries to find out what is going on. Soonter tells him to leave and get the ship ready for takeoff. After seeing the ghost, Soontar really wants to leave, but Inq #2 explains that the locals won't let them leave until the incident is reported to the Republic. Soontar insists that they leave anyway.

Ship Scene:

Inq #2 monitors communications from the planet and is amused that the local commander issued an apology for any misunderstanding. Soontar ins't listening and goes aft to get some sleep.

Dream Scene:

The whispering in this part isn't supposed to be heard until a voice whispers "why". The Jedi Soonter saw on the planet appears and speak with Soonter about why he is doing what he's doing. I'm afraid I will not do this scene justice, so I won't try. Suffice it to say that the Jedi gives Soontar something to think about and Rann's power rips her spirit from his dream. Rann then attempts to seize control of Soontar once more. Soontar wakes shaken. Inq #2 happens back at that time to adjust some settings. Finding Soonter awake, he tries to again find ou what is bothering Soontar. Soontar realates the dream to Inq #2. Inq #2 finds that he now has something to report and contacts Rann to tell him what is going on. Rann pulls Inq #2 away from the next assignment.

Desert platform scene:

Short discussion about Soontar's next assignment as Inq #2 departs.

Forest Planet (I'll break this one up into three parts)

Search and Destroy:

After Soontar handles the Jedi and is hit with a rock, Rann appears on the planet unexpectedly. Seeing the robe of the Jedi, Rann belives the Jedi dead. He reveals to Soontar that the Senate has no knowlege of the Inquisition and that Soontar has becoem nothing more than a loose end. (Force choke, rock, run)

Meeting with the Jedi:

Soontar happens upon the Jedi he just tried to kill. The Jedi explains that Rann has locked Soontars ship down and is waiting for Soontar. The Jedi seeks to team up. Soontar will have none of it eplaining that, while Rann has a scedule to keep, he doesn't and can hide as long as he needs to. The Jedi wanrs Soontar that they are both targets. Soontar ignores the warning and leaves. Soontart then has second thoughs and pulls out Nomi's (female Jedi) lightsabre. Savate (male Jedi) tries to get past Rann, but is blown black by Rann's force power.

Final Fight:

Rann wonder's about the Jedi still being alive and turns to find Soontar facing him. Rann warns Soontar that he is no match for the Sith lord that trained him. (Rann is the one that trained Soontar)(Choke, Ghost, Fight, Go help the Jedi)

Inq #2 Contacted:

Inq #2 is told by Sidius that Rann is dead and that Soontar is to be killed. Inq #2 reluctantly takes the mission and wonders who will be hunting whom.

Ok. I think that's it. Scott, jump in and fill in the blanks for me if you see them. Hope that clears up any plot questions.

Thanks for all of the reviews everyone. Very helpful all around.

I only have 2 things to say about Reciprocity:

1, best storyline I've seen in a fanfilm yet.

2, what awful sound

But I think this is my favorite fanfilm ... next to Formula...but that wasn't really a "fanfilm" sotospeak.

Awesome job.

Are there any alternate sites I can download RECIPRCITY from? I've never had sooo much of a problem downloading from TFN. Except last summer, of course.
I seem to be the only one having a problem downloading the movie, apparently.
(heavy sigh)
I'll just try again. I forget,...
I'm up to 6 or 7 attempts, I think.

I really enjoyed Reciprocity and other then the obvious audio drawbacks mentioned previously I think the film is "just pretty dang good".

Story line is the key in this movie, not effects. Imagine if Zier and the gang had some big time film company backing?

If I could give one compliment to the cast and crew it would be this...

The vision behind Reciprocity is the best example yet as to why Lucas needs to not limit the "Offical" Star Wars Films to only six.

Now I have a question...

What is the title of the music played during the ending credits?
