I could have had something, but getting the curve to match the banner, and the banner to match the background and the sidebar to match the curve is incredibly annoying. 
Yeah, it's a slight pain when you first try it.  One thing you can do though is make the entire banner all at once and slice it up later - that way you're not trying to make several smaller images match up.

I finished the banner, but I am having a little trouble understanding how to edit the CSS. I understand InvsionFree CSS, but whenever I try to edit this style sheet nothing happens...

I have no idea what style sheets are, but here's the image that I came up with.

I know it's pretty basic, but I just recently started using Photoshop. Is there anything else I need to do?

I like the look of that so far KudarMubat15. Part of me says it'd be nice to have another color in there somewhere to help flesh out the images a bit but I love the approach of using screengrabs like that. Be sure to post your completed version - I look forward to seeing it!
KenobisHeir - I sent you a PM about it, but in short I basically echo what jedimasterbac said above. If you could somehow relate a banner like that to this forum you'd have a good submission however right now it doesn't really pertain to this place yet. Great start though, keep those ideas going!

Perhaps it's just me, but I think the ideas need a little more colour - using a lot of grey and white reminds me of a corporate website, or one of those boring looking things that councils set up. What I like about well designed fan sites is that they have their own particular style that you can't find anywhere else and I think that should be incorporated into the banner. They are good for practising though.

I totally agree - that's why we're allowing this banner thread to remain open for a long time. It allows people to not only practice and get better but also see what has been submitted in the past.

Again, it still doesn't really scream Fan Sites. It's a nice banner and all but the coding in the background isn't as noticible as the Star Wars characters, which really do not need to be on a Fan Sites banner. Take the Fan Films banner for instance. It has pictures from a lot of different Fan Films. Again, it's a very nice banner but really wouldn't work for Fan Sites.
