Threw a party for our son Hayden on Saturday, shi 1st birthday. Religous people have Christenings, we're not religous so we came up with having a Jedi Naming Ceremony instead, where he becomes a Padawan and has Masters instead of God Parents.
It was great, my friend wrote a really good ceremony, order of service etc.
Upon looking for this type of thing we could find nothing, I think we may be the first to hold such a thing, so I plan to make this site a definitive resource for anyone else who wants to honour thier children in a fun way and still have the deep honour and emotion that goes along with the role of 'God Parent'.
I think it's perfect for non-religous types, it worked for us, and we made the local newspaper.
