I'm from a tiny little town called Wildomar. It's in the Inland Empire of Southern California and is nothing but houses. 
I currently live in La Jolla, San Diego, at the University of California San Diego.

Like Obi Anne, I live in Uppsala, Sweden. Pretty nice place. We have the oldest university of the Nordic Countries... dates back to 1477. (Although the building is obviously not that old...)

Our best points are, Grange Hermitage wine, our touring car event which is a 3 day city wide party & its the home of Lleyton Hewitt. (depends if you like Lleyton of not  )

Originally - a place called Warrington somewhere between Liverpool (home of the Beatles and Manchester (home of Oasis and other bands) - I lived in a little village called Thelwall by the Manchester Ship Canal (never fell in as far as I know).
Moved to Southport about age of four (the day my parents viewed the house for buying I fell in the pond there lol). Southport's a seaside resort on the North West coast of England -
On the Map
Southport Pier and Marine Lake (man-made)
Known for its Victorian shopping arcades - here - "a mile-long boulevard offering a high quality mix of both famous brands and specialist shops"
The land where Southport is situated was called "Christes Croft" (Christ's Croft) according to ancient Domesday doggerel -
"When all England is aloste
Where so safe as in Chrystes Croft
Where do you think Chrystes Croft be
But between Ribbel and Moerse"
***The river Ribble is to the North, the river Mersey is to the South***
We also have what was once the largest lake in England, Martin Mere, which has in the past been linked with Arthurian legend (then again, so have a lot of places ). Lot smaller now, they drained it for land reclaimation.

It's very old city, we have lots of monuments (of which I know, but have never visited) and unique atmosphere of univerity city.

Our urban park, Forrest Park, built for the 1904 World's Fair, is 500 acres larger than Central Park in NY. Yeah I did the tour guide thing this summer on Segways. I could tell you more than you ever wanted to know about the Park here
