Melbourne is just a great town, laid-back, *very* multicultural, full of interesting people and has a good selection of well-off and not-so-well-off people. I think you need a balance to remind you about the different types of life, and how lucky you are.

Two major events in 88? Wow, that's testing me. Having a guess, I'd say the Bicentennial Celebrations and the protests against them. That, or the ACT getting granted self-government.

Flies? Alice Springs? They don't have the monopoly on flies, you know. There are heaps of flies in Australia. Why? I have no idea. tongue

Kangaroo, tasty? I would have no idea - not only have I never had it, I've never eated red meat in my life. Sorry!

Haha, we don't celebrate Halloween because . . . because . . . you don't celebration Australia Day?

tongue

I have too celebrated Australia Day tongue After spending some time as a kid running around the UN HQ in Cairo I celebrated a lot of things...

And you need to get out more and try kangaroo. Unless you're vegan. Then I forgive you.

Well, you had the Ashes for 20 odd years, and seeing as that alternates between England and Australia you must have been not bothering quite hard tongue

Awesome. I knew the Bicentenial thing from memory, but I had to look up other options, in case you hadn't guessed. tongue

Thanks, mate, but there's no need. I'm not bothering with him anymore. Or any Australians. I'm taking him as the representative for your entire nation!

Well, maybe not tongue
