That would all depend on how lucky you are  and there are longish range weapons that aren't ordinance onces Flo, Lascannons ar a good example

The guard can field a few if they wish, if I take a heavy weapons platoon I can get one to three heavy weapons squads with 3 lascannon teams to a squad

True, but I can get four Lascannons in a Heavy Weapon Squad with five or ten Marines. Not as fragile and more accurate then yours.
