Hi Mike, I'm doing fine. I ought to go to bed since it's like 2:20am, but hey, I don't feel tired so I'm reading some fanfic instead. And the sunburn is a lot better, the skin on my back and shoulders (which I also burned albeit not as bad as the leg) has started to peel, which means I'm picking at it all the time (which really is kinda gross, but eh.), and the leg doesn't hurt that much anymore. Weeeee!
On Sunday I'm going to Öland, which is an island in the Baltic, to visit my brother who works at a restaurant there. Should be great, Öland is like one of the best places to go in Sweden in the summer (lots and lots of people visit it then) and I haven't seen my brother in a while so I'm looking forward to it.

How was your visit, Nina? Did you have lots of fun?
My sunburn, which I got two weeks ago, is almost away. There are only a few parts still peeling. It's interesting how fast some parts of your body recover faster and some slower.
Hi Camilla!
Nice to see you here again.

*hugs Camilla* Hi girl!
I'm back from Öland, and it was great there! Lovely trip... well, until we went home. See, I took the train there, met up with my brother and my mom, and we were going to take the car home... and then, about half-way home, in the middle of nowhere, the car suddenly makes this weird noise and stops dead. Had to call for assistance, and it turns out the cam belt is broken. Yay. Got the car towed away to some small town, and we managed to rent a car there (even though they had closed, but there was a guy there who helped us) so we got home, albeit a few hours later than we had planned.
Anyway, we're a bit pissed, 'cause only last week we serviced the car and it feels a bit annoying that it should break down so soon afterwards. Gah. And replacing a cam belt is veeery expensive... hooray for insurance.
Other than that the trip was great. Did some birdwatching and walked around a bit on the Stora Alvaret. Nice.

That's really annoying about the car, especially since you had in service a few days earlier. Normally one would expect that the car would be fine, but I heard from some people already, that their check doesn't mean too much, because some cars broke (more or less) afterwards.
When my car was in the repair shop the last time, I asked them to check, if they see anything that'll break soon as well, because the repair was expensive for me. They said everything's fine. But a few days later the next part of my car broke because of rust. So I wonder if they really checked it or if they wanted to overlook the rusted part. Later I spoke with a mechanic I know personally. He told me that some things can't be seen at a car and so it might happen this way. But he also stated that he would be sceptical at that repair shop where I was. *shrugs* Now I'm at another shop.
Nina, I'm glad that your trip was nice (beside of the end) and that you had a good time.

Hmm, maybe they actually break something in the car when they do the check-up? So the customer will have to return and fix the car... it's a conspiracy!
But actually, yeah, we're thinking of taking the car to another shop in the future.
A few days ago my brother came and collected his cat. He's finally moved to a bigger place so he can take her, but it feels so weird not to have her here anymore. I mean, she did belong to my brother, but I've been taking care of her practically since she was born... feeling a bit sad now.

A conspiracy? That's all? Just to make me come back?
But I would have come back, if they did nothing. Now I stay away.
Don't feel too sad. She's at a good place and you could visit her.

Well, uh, yeah... maybe it wasn't a very well thought-out conspiracy.
Yeah, I can visit her, but not that often... my brother lives in another town about 180 km away. It's not THAT far, but I have no car and the trains there take a while since you either have to go via Stockholm (a detour) or take the bus to another town and take the train from there.

I see...
I know what you mean. My aunt is living between 100km and 200km away from me and I would love to meet her more often, but there are same problems about car, train, busses. But at least you have a chance to meet your brother and see the cat again - even if it's just a few times a year.

Hidoe from Canada... eh! (Hey! No Canadian flag?! )
Well, I'm in Niagara Falls, just over the border, but still out of the US.
Laura, I hope your trip was fun, and I hope you have more fun down under! I wish I could go. I wish I had money to do a month long trip, and even go to NYC.
I saw The Dark Knight on Thursday night. Matt was dressed as Batman, and everyone loved him. I only got to take one picture, because by the time that I got there, the line was almost ready to go in. It was a great movie, and I can't wait to see it again.
On Thursday while I was driving around doing some errands, I had my window down because I have no A/C and it was hot. That evening, I look at my left arm, and it was burnt. Now today I must have really missed a big part on both my arms when I was putting on sunscreen, because I am burnt in more places now. But my left arm and chest are the worst.
We went to the Rainforest Cafe to eat... not bad, but expensive because the prices are in Canadian and the exchange rate is equal now. You used to be able to get 1.30 Canadian for every American dollar.
I found a Clone Wars mug at the MGM store! They had some other Star Wars and also Indiana Jones stuff, as well as some Disney things. I guess it wasn't just for MGM stuff. (And I think their tax is really high here. )
We crossed the border last night, and the first thing I saw was my favorite coffee place, Tim Hortons. We have to travel about 2 hours to get to the closest one by us. They have really good coffee and iced cappuccinos. They have a slightly different taste here though, but still good.
(And I have now learned that either it's my laptop (that could be the case), or it's been awhile since I've typed and I keep making mistakes. )

Cindy
First and most important: Have you got my email? Or is the adress in your profile wrong?
The Niagara Falls are a place I would love to see myself as well. It must be fascinating.
It seems you had some more fun again. I hope your travel back will be the same like the rest of your journey!

Hey Sabine
PM sent.
It's raining today, and we have to go home. If you ever want to come up here, I'll take you! The view from the Canadian side is much better than the US side.
