Who do you think will be selling stuff at C3?

Last time there were a bunch of vendors like:
Suncoast
Brains Toys
Cloud City Collectibles
Rawcliff
Topps
& more

Does anyone know where I could get vendors info because I knoe someone who wants to set up a booth at C3.

Also, we can post here when we find out who is *officially* going to be sellling SW items.

Here is the Celebration 2 Map of the Vendors in the Exhibit Hall, for reference purposes...rebuilt from scratch based off the C2 Program.

Good Idea.

The best way to contact anyone at this time is to get trough LFL Public Relations.

However, it's still WAY to early in the game to get a confirmation about these things.

Gentle Giant would be cool. I would bet my life that Del Rey and Dark Horse will have a booth.

I just looked in the CII program and Lego, Hasbro, Del Ray, Lucas Arts, Scholastic, Cedco Publising, Frito Lay, Rubies Costume, Master Replica, are all listed in there. Plus they still sell a lot of Star Wars stuff so I would be that you would see most of them at CII.

As for Brians Toys we in the Star Wars collecting world do not like him at all. He is what we call a scalper. He will take a new $5 figure and mark it up to $20. And he will do this on just about everything that he sells.

I would venture to say who ever was there last time (the big players) will be back again.

No, no, no. He's a BIG scalper. His prices will go up even more at a convention.

Just imagine, $25 for a Jango pilot......

Yeah, Brian's Toys was one of the vendors involved in the Jorg Sacul scalping that was going on at CII. They had almost two totes full of them sitting at their booth and were marking them up at outrageous prices.

Kind of sad. But everyone has to make money somehow. Just too bad that there has to be that kind of greed out there. I can understand turning a profit. That is all well and good. But to place a 600% mark up on a figure that should have been available to everyone who wanted one is just wrong. Yes, you can blame WotC for how the store was set up. But a lot of the blame goes to those who were greedy...like Brian's Toys and many other vendors who were selling the figures for so much more once they found a loophole in the store's system.

Oh well. I got my two, so I guess I should shut up.

As far as vendors...yeah, it will most likely be almost exactly the same as last time. Those booth prices (if they are anything like what WotC was charging) weed out the smaller vendors.

Scalpers are just an unfortunate side effect of collecting and generally have to tolerated in a place like C3, considering it's obviously a sellers' market in there. But I think something should be done about the bootleggers selling overpriced tapes/DVD's of shows and movies they have absolutely no right to be selling. If you want to see a bootlegger squirm, start videotaping his table. You would've thought my friend and I were with "60 Minutes" the way those bootleggers would hide their faces or hold their hands up to our camera. One even had the nerve to say we had no business taping his stuff to which we replied he had no business selling the stuff on his table.

Aslong as MR is there, with the Vader Saber FX on hand ill be happy cuz, ill have my vader done by then..

And i can't mess the chance to walk up to the MR table. In full vader gear.Point at the saber, give them the money, and say "Impressive, Most Impressive"
Turn it on and walk off.

Just can't resist that one.

Course i plan on buying alot more, but master replicas is a must.

I know this for a fact: If you see something at one of the vendors, buy it then. Don't hesitate. This happened to me twice, where I went and thought about buying something and came back a little later and it was gone.

If you don't like scalpers like Brian's Toys, there's an obvious solution. Don't buy from them.

Go to Wal~Mart or toys'r'us for your $5 figures, hit up the Suncoast at your local mall, and check out Ebay and Yahoo Auctions, or other collector classified websites for your rarer stuff.
Of course anything you buy, no matter how rare or how readily available it is, you're probably gonna pay a percentage more than it's worth at a con.
If you wanna be thrifty don't buy much that weekend; if you wanna come home from the con proud of a good haul, be prepared to shell out more. happy
