I hope they change the current membership kits.
Maybe they will be kind enough to send those who received the latest one a "I'm sorry replacement kit"
If not.... 
I think I will contact the Insider and express my dismay with the current kit. Maybe if enough of us who received what I did would speak up, we can get it back to what it use to be and should be.
Too many snags and hold ups have been happening with the fanclub and store..I hope this gets resolved soon we are not getting any younger. What has it been at least a month since the new store went crash. 
I hope this is not an example of what to expect for Celebration III planning and delivering.
Let's hope things improve and give the fans a glimmer of hope.

I think the biggest problem with Celebration II was...fan lack of patience. Relax, if more people spent the same amount of time working together on stuff (as they did bitching about it afterwards) then things would have gone twice as smooth...and would this time around.
I'm a member of the fan club, and you know what I was doing an hour before and after the doors opened...stood in line outside. And considering I got to meet Anthony Daniels because of it...I consider it a fair trade for a couple hours standing outside in the nice weather.
I think the official fan club should extend a few perks to their members at C3...first chance at tickets, group discount rate on hotels associated with the convention, and maybe even something special in their gift bag. As the credit card commercial says: membership has it's priveledges!

Someone asked Pabawan(Pablo Hidalgo) this on the Hyperspace Q&A Dropbox:
Q: At Celebration III, can we have a "Hyperspace only" or "Star Wars Forums" reception? Like maybe right before or right after the "official" kick-off of the festivities...
Pabawan: Early plans are in the works to have special areas and benefits to Hyperspace / Fan Club members at the event.
If you're a Hyperspace member, you can read it here
And on the official Celebration III website it says this: "Improved Fan Club benefits – for members from all over the world."
And Mr.Sansweet said there will be benefits. Probably discounted ticket prices? Soon to be revealed.
There is an advantage to the SW Fan Club Membership besides Insider!

Back to the membership kits, I got all of the good stuff and a membership card, are you supposed to have a membership number??? is it necessary for anything?

They mainly work with names when you call them, so I'm guessing not..

When I filled in my card I just used the number above my name on the mailing label. I assume that is the actual membership number.

As for the "perks" at C2 that whole get in an hour early thing was a sham. First day, I got in line same time as my non-FC friends and guess who got in 30 minutes before I did?
And then the staff were just handing out the FC lanyards to anyone that claimed they didn't get one in the mail. So hopefully they'll have learned from what's happened before.

Absolutley, but they can't reasonably expect us to wait in line for 2+ hours just to get into the con.
The other big problem was they didn't schedule enough quality/interesting events. Hopefully they will run the good ones at least once a day. I would rather sit far away in a big room and be at the event than not get in at all.

I just hope they do not take forever with this "big announcement"! I want to get my fan club membership also. And it is driving me crazy every time I call, and the guy says he doesn't know when they plan to announce it...which he does!! ARGH!!

With that many people, you can't help for there to be delays. Especially with a fan base, know (almost infamous) for it's willingness to stand in line hours before an event (or movie) involving their favorite sci-fi genre. And despite the fan club lanyard thing backfired somewhat, people would be complaining if only a select few were able to get in (if you are not in that group). So my advice is...wait your turn, start a conversation with the people around you...you'll have more good memories of Celebration III (the the apparent "tramatic experiences" we keep hearing about from disgruntaled fanboyz)
I think there was plenty to see and do at CII, yet there is always room for more events. The big thing may be to keep people moving. If everyone is trying to get into the main room for one of the Hayden/Nick shows (I have a 17 yr old sister...so I was at every one of them), have some of the other actors in the smaller rooms...where fans can listen to the stories, ask a coupls questions...and get the photo/autographs taken care of. I'll bet the celebs wouldn't mind doing short "meet and greets" with fans, rather then repeat the same thing over and over in the main exhibition hall autograph area. Spread that aspect of the con around...and traffic may improve all over the place?

YEE HAA!!! Well, I was finally able to get my NEW Hyperspace Membership!! It will only take 4-6 weeks to get my first edition of the Insider, and up to 12 weeks to get my Membership kit!! 12 weeks?? Doesn't that seem a tad long? I don't think I would have bought it if it didn't come with Hyperspace. I wasn't convinced about it when they first announced it...so we will see. Anyone else subscribe?? And yes, it WAS David I was talking to. How did you know?

I'm sure there will be benefits. But I doubt they will be useful. The ones from CII weren't.
