So am I still in the Fan Club?

My Insider subscription is current and runs until the end of 2005. I had resubscribed several times before Hyperspace was ever announced and I find Hyperspace to be a racket which would make me pay for things I do not want, such as the webcam, in order to get things I do want, like the magazine. (But this is a different thread for a different place).
My question is, since my Insider subscription is still current, am I still in the fan club even though I did not join Hyperspace? I obviously would like the benefits associated with fan club membership when C3 rolls around, but I have no urge to drop another $40 to join Hyperspace until my Insider subscription has nearly run out.
And yes, I intend to contact someone with customer service to find out also, but I'm curious if anyone else is in the same situation or has an opinion.

Thank you! I was wondering the same thing. I hope we can get an answer. I guess I should also contact them just to make sure. I suspect we will get an answer that we will not like...

I can't imagine we would downgraded or something. That would be pretty harsh. I've tried calling a few times now, but the line stays busy for me.
Who do I contact if I have questions regarding my access code or membership to the new Fan Club?

I found my order history at the Paizo website.
Star Wars Insider 8-Issue Subscription (US)
[Magazine Subscription] Copies per issue: 1 @ $27.95 Fulfilled 01/20/04 06:09 PM
According to this, when should it run out? Does this include the 'fan club'? I'm confused now. I'm going to email them.

I'll bet you can buy those "Family and Friends" passes from folks not using them at C3. Heck, I'll probably just give mine away outside the convention hall, since I think my whole group is Fan Club members.
Also, it used to be that being a subcriber did not nesessarily make you a fan club member. So, fair or not, I have a sneaking feeling that since Lucasfilm took over the club, they might not consider you an actual member of the current fan club unless you have the whole shebang, hyperspace and all. In fact I'll bet that in order to get the "Fan Club Lanyard" you'll have to use your hyperspace login at the Starwarsshop as proof.
Just a guess at this point though.

I have a membership to The Insider and Hyperspace. When I buy my tickets, how will they know that I am a member of Starwaes.com/Hyperspace? Anyone have any idea?

I've also been wondering the same thing. My Insider subscription runs out in March and I'm wondering if I should go ahead and join the Hyperspace part before Monday.
I'm assuming I'm still in the Fan Club.

Since I have nothing better to do then stare at http://www.starwarscelebration.com/swchome.aspx?file=swc it seems they are pretty adamant that the site is the only place to pre order the tickets. No mention of starwarsshop.com at all.
I still bet they somehow use your subscription code (I hope you saved it!) or maybe just your email and password you use on hyperspace.

But what if you're just a subscriber to Insider and don't have HS?

A subscriber and a Member are two differnt things.
You need to call them and upgrade to Hyperspace
hyperspace is now the offical fan club.

i should've known i'd be forced into hyperspace sooner than later
i'm going to wager that those of us who renewed our membership prior to the merging of hyperspace and the official fan club are now not going to be considered fan club members. so that, of course, will mean shelling out $95 for the 4 day badge and $40 for membership.

Gee, how about me? I signed up for Insider and Hyperspace on the same day, before they merged!
So yes I have a Insider subscriber code and yes I have Hyperspace, but no I did not join the current incarnation of the fan club.
I suspect that they have to to accept Insider subscribers as fan club members. When you paid thats exactly what it was at the time you joined. The fact they changed owners and now have a magazine/Hyperspace arrangement doesn't mean you didn't join the fan club.

You know, I guess now I feel kinda lucky. I'd been whining and moaning for a while now that I was subscribed to the website and insider, but not yet the fan club, and then here they join all three seperate subscriptions into one. So I've been moaning and groaning if I should spend the extra money on stuff I already have... But my paid for subscriptions run out in November, pleanty of time before C3, so... After reading all this I feel bad for even whining at all. I'll shush now and just wait the two more months to get my all in one subscription. Good luck to everyone else...

I've talked to several people at SW Insider. If you were a member, before the Hyperspace deal, you are no longer a member unless you have Hyperspace. I chose not to get Hyperspace, because I didn't want to see everything behind the scences. I was a fan club member. I received my animation cell, 2004 fan club darth vader card, etc. What really pisses my off, is that they never sent out a letter stating that if I didn't get Hyperspace, they were kicking me out of the club. I've been a member for years, and this is how they treat you. Can you tell that I'm a little put off. All the lady on the phone, at the actual corp office, was that "well we were going through some big changes." I have a 2 year membership to the magazine, and I would still have to fork over $39 for a year subscription.
I still consider myself a Fan, no matter what.
Just my opinion,
