I am currently booked but I may change my mind if a shuttle is unavailable. Which would be a shame because it is within my budget.

If I don't get a room at the Holiday Inn I will probably stay here. It is kind of far away but the walk wouldn't be that far.

It is really hit and miss alot of web sites will not book that far in advance and some staff members do nto know what they are doing but i got a great room deal a mile away with, fridge,microwave, swimming pool for less than 90.00 a night i am good with that i am in walking distance.

yeah not to far bout a mile if not less I think that will be cool with me i thought the guy said there was a mcdonalds between here and the con with the money i am saving on my room i can eat a good breakfast everyday and aquick easy dinner or something lol

I don't want to plan anything just yet, but my husband is so happy with the price that he keeps saying that we will work things out transportation wise, so most likely we will stay here.

OK, guys, I gotta tell ya; this is not the best area in the world. You will not want to walk, trust me on this.
Historically, it's in a very old part of town; consequently, there are a lot of old apartment buildings and old houses. And a lot of people live in those old buildings and houses. And they all have cars -- and no parking lots. It will be very, very hard to find anyplace to put your car, if your motel's lot is fill.
I did not drive by this place on our road trip today, but I will make a point of going there soon to give you the lowdown. Don't cancel yet, or anything like that, but I would advise anyone considering staying in the MacArthur Park area, that it will take some checking before I'm comfortable recommending anything in that part of town.

Figured on that, based on maps I have seen. Yes, it would be very helpful if someone could check it out. I will not have a car so parking is not an issue, but transportation is.

It's not an area to walk around in. Especially at night.
And if it's as hot during C-IV as it has been this weekend, you will really, really not enjoying walking around anywhere, anyway.
This is why I keep stressing the "wait for the room block hotels and the shuttle schedule" to make a decision as to where to stay.

I called the Local Cab Company and be no more than 5.00-10.00 one way if no trafic at night should be good. Day time might be more, but still even if it was 20.00 a day in cabs thats still only 100.00 a day before tax and that is the best deal you can get.
Rates and info can call yourself if you want
so even if it is a bad neighborhood if i was taking a cab every day would be a better deal right?

Cabbing it would be fine, I'm sure.
I will go and check on this place as soon as I can, and let you know what I think. I've read some reviews and they don't sound too bad, so I hope that's a good sign.

cool i would apriciate that, I called some other hotels after your first post and To even book a room Close even with the deals we are looking at min 179.00 a day. Talked to Holiday inn they are booked by Star Wars Celebration 4 to be anounced end of summer early fall. well what the Reservation manager said.
So if cab is good i am still willing to spend an extra 10-20 dollars and take a cab. still makes it cheap on me.
Has a pool/fridge/microwave
and the yellow cab co. i posted can do up to 4 passengers for the price of 1. no extra fees needed and i think they are cheaper also then some of the other taxi services i saw from airport to downtown.
I believe it was a min 45.00 with other cab co.
with yellow it is Flat rate per trip (group) in either direction for
–– trips between LAX and Downtown 38.00
