RE: AIRPORT TRANSPORTATION INFO

Thanks everybody for the help and tips.
I figured taxi would be the safest route atleast at night back to the hotel and since my hotel is only a little over a mile from the convention I figured it would be about $5.
More than likely I would use a taxi or shuttle for the majority of my traveling there ... I don't want to bother with renting a car and parking fee's, etc.

JSTAR71 posted: Do you know if there are shuttles from hollywood to convention center?
The only hotels that will be on the shuttle route are the hotels in the official room block, in the downtown area.
The subway is an easy and efficient way to get from Hollywood to downtown Los Angeles. Here's a link, but I think the fare info is out of date.

I just made my reservations with Super Shuttle both going from and back to LAX. Their online system is very easy to use. The cost is $15.00 each way + tip. They also have most hotels in their database (including the Fig); just type in the hotel's name, and the system will automatically pull up the correct address.
Here is a link to their reservation system.

VK: Edited to turn that into a real link.

I'm glad to see there's shuttle service to my hotel. I'd been wondering on this.
This being all new to me.

Prime Time Shuttle has a similar service. It was $30 for two people for us so I would guess their rates are the same. Straight from the airport right to our hotel (Holiday Inn-City Center). Its a pretty fair price if you ask me.

VK edit to turn that into a link, too

Just reserved my shuttle pick-up times to/from the Figueroa Hotel. It was $106.20 total (including gratuity) for three people roundtrip. Also received my reservation e-mail confirmation.
That's a heck of a lot less than it would have cost me to rent a car in LA over the Memorial Day weekend.

It's going to cost a lot to rent a car, but we plan on going to the beach, Universal and a bunch of other places as well. With parking, gas and the rental, it will be a lot, but we are getting a convertible Mustang do it's not all that bad.

I know there is the option of placing a reservation down for a shuttle but beings I am coming from the uk I am thinking about flight delays and everything else to go along with it so I dont particularly want to do make a reservation but do I still have the option of being able to get a shuttle from the airport to my hotel when I get there??

Once you place your reservation with your flight number and ETA, the shuttle service will check on the day of your arrival for any delays.

I ridden the SuperShuttle a few times already, and I have not had any problems with them. From looking at all of the other options for getting to downtown LA, I really think this is the cheapest. Other then taking the metro, but that could be a problem if you are lugging around a lot of luggage.

SuperShuttle and Prime Ticket are strictly airport transportation providers.
