JediJustin posted: I received my annual Hyperspace membershp kit about 1-2 months ago. It contained the same documents/pamphlets as always (my wife and I have been FC members since 2002). And we have received each issue of Insider without any problems.
Strange that so many people are experiencing problems with their memberships. I wonder if it stems from all of the new members who are signing up with C4 right around the corner? Just a guess, but if you are having an issue, I would hope you would be able to resolve it with customer service.
I resolved "some" issues with customer service like the damaged magazines. They extended my subscription by the number of books that were actually damaged. That was great of them but still, the stuff they send you is pathetic. Why send a membership kit at all? Just give me another magainze (when it's supposed to come out) and I'd be happy. I probably wouldn't be a fan if it wasn't for the extra day at the con. Sad, but true.

I'm not renewing. I subscribed when they had the web cam on the set filming Episode III. The only reason I did it again was for the extra day at the con. After that the fan club can go scratch.
A plastic card and coupons. I get that crap in my junk mail everyday. I waqs so aggravated when I opened that membership package. Never again. AND THEN they try and get away with charging my card 2 times after I originally subscribed. Morons.

OK, everyone - check out this link http://www.starwars.com/community/fanclub/mag/news20070122.html about the "New Directions for Star Wars Insider and Hyperspace in 2007". It basically says Hyperspace and the Insider are not going to be connected anymore. Oh, and yet another publisher is going to take over the magazine! The change also has an impact on who gets C4 benefits.
Here is an excerpt:
How does this affect my Celebration benefits?
Members of the Star Wars Fan Club get an exclusive extra day at Star Wars Celebration IV and daily early admission to Celebration Europe. If you are a Hyperspace member during the time of the events, you receive the special admission privileges and other benefits. If you purchase Fan Club membership for the extra benefits before April 1, 2007, you are also subscribing to six issues of the Star Wars Insider.
After April 1, 2007, if you subscribe to the Fan Club, you do get access to the extra benefits at the Celebration events, but you do not get a subscription to the Insider. The lowered subscription price of Hyperspace reflects that.
After April 1, 2007, if you subscribe only to Star Wars Insider, this does not include Fan Club membership, which will need to be purchased separately. If you purchase only an Insider subscription and not a Fan Club membership, you will not be eligible for Celebration benefits.
This all only adds to the confusion!

Back to how it used to be, and they told us that it was going to be so much better having the fan club and mag as one bundle.

To quote our little green friend: "Unfortunate, this matter is".
Be sure to have the Hyperspace FC customer service number and the customer service number to Titan Magazines on hand. I would also verfiy when your current FC membership expires so you know exactly when you need to re-order.
It's a little more work for us, but nothing we all can't handle.

Well, Titan is a great publishing house (and they're expanding), so this is good news. They know how to run a magazine and how to run subscriptions.

It might be wishful thinking, but I would like to see all current Hyperspace FC members receive a notice (either via e-mail or snail mail) stating when their subscription is set to expire, and what they need do to make sure their membership doesn't lapse.
Just a suggestion.

I agree. I rolled by eyes when I saw Insider was moving again, but then I saw it was Titan who was doing it and I breathed a sigh of relief.

Maybe they'll finally get their act together.

The month and year of your subscription expiration is on the mailing label. It almost looks like it's some sort of code, but if you really look, you'll see it. I've found that most magazine subscriptions are like that. Once I noticed it on one, I found it on most of the other magazines I subscribe to.
As many years as I've been subscribing to Hyperspace, I've never had a single problem. Years ago I didn't get my subsciption package, so I called them. They sent it right out with a few extras included. For me, it's a real suprise to find that so many of you have had problems. I've been very fortunate!

Thanks for the heads-up, JediFan77. I'll check it out on my latest issue when I gert home tonight.
I'm with you - I've never had a problem with my (or my wife's) Hyperspace FC membership or receiving Insider magazine.

Jedifan I wish I didn't have any problems. It's like they are trying to screw things up. It's not that hard to send a box out with something substantial in it. Not chessy coupons and a membership card that makes a 5 years old feel important. Oh and when I give you my credit card. CHARGE IT ONCE MORONS!
I think in any kind of fan club, you should get something. An exclusive figure maybe. I mena how hard would it be for Lucas to take a stormtrooper or a clone or something, paint in YET ANOTHER COLOR and make that the fan club exclusive figure. No. We get official pix coupons. YAY!

Why do you guys have two memberships? Can't you just share the magainze or did you both subscribe before you got married?
