Dang, flippin ads! I can understand wanting to get more money but only if they use that money to improve the physical membership packs. The online "member packs" are nice but not worth the membership.

RE: Hyperspace Membership

*perkily pokes head into thread, takes a sprightly look around* I've actually a bit of a Hyperspace/OS membership question meself, too, at least as it pertains to all the exclusive stuff at CIV, that first members-only day and so forth.... Now, a while back I did ask for official site/HS membership for Christmas, because I knew then about all the fabulous, tantalizing members-only perks which would undoubtedly be there at Celebration, and I'd every intention of being part of it. (I'd already bought my four-day badge a month or two beforehand, but it was an easy enough change to make) At any rate, then, I've certainly been receiving my Insider issues, and of course I've been *loving* all the HS goodies too (an embarassment of riches, that ) - yet I've not actually received my official fan club kit, is the thing. A while back, to be sure, they told me I'd be getting the February-issue kit, I take it, and thus that it would be getting to me by mid, late April, even early May-ish or thereabouts....in time enough for CIV, anyway, and I figured that was the main thing. And, oh, the customer service folks at starwars.com have been wonderful, actually - very understanding and helpful too....
Now, I had to call them this week anyway, to let 'em know my change of address (moving, argh!) - and I took the opportunity to ask after my membership kit, to have at least some sense of when it might get here, so's to avoid any misdelivery or what have you. But then they told me that the kits will apparently be mailed out by only the end of May-ish or so....? *mildly confuzzled look* Of course I wasn't sure where that left me with regards to CIV, but they told me that all I need is to bring one of my delivered Insider issues, with the sticker on it, because that proves my membership in this case....it *will*, right? They've entered my change of address info, so they have that on hand, and I have my Insider issues, my HS member name and password - so I'll be okay, right? Even though I don't actually have my membership kit physically with me at the time.... (and I can only presume I'm not the only one in this sitch) *slightly worried expression* Oh, someone allay my concerns, and thanks muchly in advance, to be sure....
Dawn.

You dont need anything from your hyperspace membership kit to take advantage of the members only stuff at C-IV.
You do however need to make sure in your GenCon.com account that you have "Yes" selected in your account info next to the question "Are you an official fan club member?" If it says "no" then they wont even bother to check if your a hyperspace member and you'll not get the pass for the hyperspace day.

Oh, thank you, thank you so much! See, now, that does make sense now that I think about it, and in fact that right there immediately allays my concerns, which is only a good thing considering however much else I already have to fret over. I know I did tick "Yes" in that box on my GenCon account, but clearly it behooves me to check that again, and maybe keep on checking it at intervals....I guess just to be sure that it hasn't been accidentally switched off, then. Okay, so no worries, and I can sit back here, relax and heave a sigh of relief....not that I'd ever necessarily doubted that all would be well, exactly - it's just that with less than a month to go now (and, eeek, I can scarcely believe I'm saying that! I remember when it was still two months away, over a hundred days away....my goodness, how time surely does fly, indeed.... ) I figured that forewarned was forearmed, and all that....and while I don't object to surprises as a rule, they have to be the *good*, non-stressful, non-frazzling kind. That's all.... Phew!

TK--421 posted: You might want to login to your registration.gencon.com account and verify your "Are you a member of the Star Wars Fan Club?" is still checked correctly. I logged in yesterday and it had been flipped to No for some reason so I switched it back to Yes.
THANK YOU!!
Mine had become unchecked!

I'm glad I revisted this thread because mine was unchecked too (even though I don't really care anymore since I'm volunteering for OPX and the "special perks" of membership ain't so special anymore). But I'm sure there will be A LOT of angry people that had indicated they're fan club members when they ordered their 4-day badge and don't know their registration may be wrong for whatever reason.
