Why is this a surprise? Conventions come and go in L.A. Besides, by then the Dodgers and Angels will be in First Place with an 11 game win streak each, and that's all we locals care about  .
But really, a convention such as this is not that big of a deal. Nor is a movie opening. Luckily, both Lucasfilm and Buena Vista Pictures have a core audience to draw attendance from.

The guy I spoke to today said that the marathon would probably happen around 6 pm beginning with the first film, and at midnight, the third film starts. I asked for two VIP seats for that or Friday. But he also said nothing's set in stone yet.
He didn't even know about CIV!

Thank you! I've been waiting for that! I will be calling back the theater around that time then cause maybe once the trailer gets going, the tickets will begin. And of course as soon as I get word on tickets or anything, I'll let everyone know. We should all show up in SW costumes! Imagine the confusion on everyone's faces....
