Hey Guys,
I am getting the shipping invoices ready and I wanted to make sure I did not forget anyone. I am listing all the current orders I have received. If your name does not appear don't turn to the darkside...it just means that either 1.) Your TF.N name did not appear on your order form...or... 2.) You paid by money order and you did not include your TF.N name either. Ok fellow Peeps...I believe we have some numbers here. I was able to get on much earlier than I thought, originally I thought it would be late before I got to post, but thank goodness for the husband comming home on time today!!!
I was unable to get any wholesaler to agree to help us, I even tried to get them to give us a discount and I would put their logo on the badge, but no dice. They said if we were a bigger group they may consider it, but being that we are small they cannot help out...whatta crock if you ask me, they are just another coorporation out to screw the little guy. Sorry for the potty mouth, but it just really ticks me off.
Here is a list of the materials and cost per badge, this includes PayPal fees and shipping and packaging. If you want insurance just let me know.
Battery Snap Connector $1.00
Battery Holder 3 AA $2.50

I am not charging anything for labor and I am not making any money, I just ask that everyone give me time to complete each badge. I do have two small children and a husband and house to take care of, so all I ask is that you be patient. I will get your badge out to you, and hopefully I will have them all completed by Christmas, I am hoping by Thanksgiving because I have my costuming to work on.
HERE ARE SOME EXCITING THINGS...
What we have decided to do is to number the badges. We thought long about what to do with all the responses from people outside this site. So we figured that numbering them will bring their value up after the convention. We plan to make 200 badges total and number each one. The numbers will be given out according to payment received. I cannot save anyone any numbers because it would be too confusing and not fair to others. So this is how the distribution of numbers is going to go.
1 to 10 will be my family's numbers. Sorry if tis offends anyone but we worked so hard on these and we deserve the first ones
11 will be George Lucas
12 will be Rick McCullum
13 will be David Prowse
14 will be Hayden Christiansen
15 will be Steve Sansweet
16 will be Mary Franklin
So, I plan to begin the numbers at 17. As each payment is received I will write down the names next to the numbers, and keep a list. When I go to ship the badges I will make sure you have the right numbers. I will not tell you your number ahead of time simply because I do not have the time to keep emailing everyone their numbers, I need to get these badges completed and that is where all my time is going to spent. Wow, this is a novel.
Anyway, this is some very special news. The first people who order their badges will be receiving special edition badges. These will have a gold star on them because only 100 of the 200 will be special edition. We are doing this because I want TheForce.net members to have the special ones. I will need to sell all the badges to make back the costs so we will see how we are going to handle that. Right now we are going to focus on the orders on the list. Then we will make others.

Um... I have a question.... why is the date 'May 23-28'? The Fan day is the 24, and the rest of the convention is 25-28.

Everyone please start checking your PM's because I am sending out confirmation emails on addresses for the badges. All that I ask is that when you receive your badge please post what you thought of it.
Also...Because it took so damn long to finally get them out to you...a small little something will be included in your order. I feel bad for them taking so long to complete, it really was not our fault, it was the circuit board company we went with, but I can understand why some of you may have lost faith...but...we promise they are spectacular looking, at least from our point of view and they look professional and very sheek.
I love you guys and thank you so much for being patient. Once I recieve confirmation back that I have your correct address I will place a check on the master list. Then, be prepared for the arrival of Vader in your mailbox. Shipping starts the week of Febuary 19th, 2007.

Hey Fellow Jedi...
The badges will start going out on Thursday.
Late Thursday night I will post in this thread the final product with the changed wording and everything. We are also running an experiment right now to see how long the batteries last, so that you will know how many batteries to take with you to the convention. I was going to send batteries with the badges, but I did not want to take a chance that they would possibly leak or explode all over the badge. Also, the circuit board was snagging my shirt every once in a while, so we added a piece of foam cushion to the back of the badge to protect your shirt or costume. The badge takes 3 AA batteries, so make sure you have them available for when your badge arrives.
I will start to post the badges on Ebay tomorrow night. I REALLY need to sell the extras. I have a continuing debt on my credit card and an intrest rate that would blow up the Death Star, so I need to get these off my hands. If there is anyone else who wants a badge, please have them PM me or bid on Ebay. I hope everyone understands my dilema, but I want to go to Celebration IV too and at first I received a couple hundered orders and that shrunk considerably when payment was due. Anyway, I dont want to whine here, I just wanted everyone to know the up and up.
Well, begin to look in your mailboxes for the badges. Also, dont forget to post your comments in the thread or PM, so I know if they met your expectations.
