There's no need to do anything under the table. You get autographs based on how many hours you volunteer. There are also no discounted coupons.

If I remember correctly the rules required the volunteers to get autographs off shift. That included getting our "earned" autographs personalized. I believe there was a stipulation where approaching a guest while on duty might result in loss of compensation (autographs). You might also be interested in knowing you do not get to choose your autographs. They make up packets. I don't collect autographs so it really didn't matter to me. I thought my selection was really nice and totally worth the time spent.

One year when I worked for them at Comic-Con, I worked a certain number of hours and got one free autograph from 2 celebs signing. Naturally, I chose Mark and Carrie! I save several hours in line that year!
Last year at CC, I worked a certain number of hours and got $10 credit for each hour worked towards merchandise in the booth (photos, pre-signed photos, etc.) AND one free autograph from each of the celebs there (Carrie, Daniel Logan, Amy Allen, Dave Prowse).

Thanks everyone! It sounds like the perks are worth it and for the items I want to get signed I will buy coupons/autograph tickets like everyone else. :-)

We got our emails a couple of days ago as well. Ironically we might have to turn them down now due to other C4 committments we've made. We will have a better idea when the scheduling comes out, but we won't leave them hanging

While I wouldn't expect quite so much, I hope they do something more similar to CC this year. If you are an autograph collector like I am, the system they used at C3 was difficult to plan for. You didn't get your "compensation" until after you completed your last shift. So either, you had to wait until after your last shift to get autographs or risked getting duplicates. Now, I have autographs of most of the people I want, so getting 10-12 random autographs is unlikely to get me many that I want and even then, it might not be the picture you would have chosen. I would rather have credit to spend in their booth.

I had posted this a while back (in January) on the other autograph thread. It explains a little bit about what you're getting for volunteering. And yeah, I do know you will have to wait until the end of your shifts to get your "stuff:"
Just thought I'd let everyone know that I talked to Anne N. from OfficialPix today. She told me that there will be tiered "goodies" for the volunteers -- you work one shift, you get x number of photos; more shifts, the "volunteer" pin plus photos; even more shifts, pin plus photos plus volunteer souvenir t-shirt.
She also said, just FYI, that they will not be at Celebration Europe. They only have the U.S. "rights."
