Heh, heh, well, I actually had a kind of run in with the wife of one of the Stars(pretty big name, not posting here). I had been posted on the border of the seating/concession area and the corridor in front of the photo ordering booth. They told me to not let people past this one point, so I had to tell people that they needed to go around. Well, I had no idea who she was, and she walked where I had been told not to let people in. So I stopped her and said that she needed to go around. She said "I'm *****'s wife!" all snippy, like how DARE I not realize who she was and stop her. I apologized and let her go, but I was kind of miffed. I was just doing my job and she isn't famous!

Couldn't see it, she had a scarf on. Would have mentioned it, but I was taken aback...perhaps I should have stopped her to get the badge more visible, but still, her reaction could have been much nicer, just smile and correct me. I had quite a few people trying to get through the area I closed. She acted like the 2 seconds that I stopped her were going to ruin her entire day. Anyway, not going to stop me from volunteering again!

Here is information from Anne to the OfficialPix volunteers:
Hey Official Pix Volunteers!
In order to faciliate better communications a forum has been set up
for us on Rebelscum.com. The direct URL is:
Official Pix C-IV Volunteers Forum
You don't need to sign up on the forum to view the information, only
if you want to post a question. Let's use this to discuss all things
about volunteering at CIV for OPX. Post questions or thoughts and
I'll get answers. There is already information posted there now for
you to read as i have received many emails from you guys this week.
Please bookmark the forum and visit there often as I will spend daily
time there making sure that you all get as much information as
possible. You can also email me directly, but the best way for me to
get the information to everyone is through this forum (sending 300
emails at a time can be crazy-scary!).

Ok, this may make me sound like an "autograph snob" or something but how do they arrange this pricing? How is it that someone that was a cartoon voice in the clone wars is two coupons, yet they guy that played Greedo and the guy that played Biggs are only one coupon? Needless to stay i'd rather be waiting in line for Biggs than some cartoon voice. That being said, i'll just be happy with whatever random autographs I get from volunteering.

I'm also a volunteer for OPX. I just hope I get the schedule I want. I'm planning on taking 4 shifts. I like autographs! I have walls and walls full of them. What are the odds that one will actually get to sit with a star instead of having to sell coupons or something lame like that?

Well, with perhaps as many as 60 signers, what do you think they will need the most of? Granted, they are not all Carrie Fishers but it should still be fun to sit with any of the celebs.

It is fun. The most fun I had at C-III was sitting with Toby Philpot and David Barclay, who animated Jabba the Hutt (one was the left side, the other the right side). Great, great guys, and great stories.

Hi! I don't know about my local FF. I guess I should look into that!
On the OPX volunteer note, I'm hoping that we won't have to decide on our schedule until we're more sure about what is actually going on during the convention. I mean, I don't want to miss out on something incredible because I'm volunteering. I'm also gonna try to work the first shift Thursday and the last shift Monday. I wonder if anyone here has any good stories from past volunteering at a Celebration though OPX.
